 CARLY GRASLAND POV

I stepped out my car and walked up to my new house. Moving to Chicago was the best choice of my life. I always wanted to live here. The tall buildings, different shopping place, more food to eat. I was in a dream. Carrying my last box in my tiny home i closed the door behind me. I looked around and took in a deep breath. I cant believe the moving people just tossed around the boxes. My small living room covered from front to back with nothing but boxes. I decided to start with the box I brought inside. I opened it to reveal my pictures from college.

I smiled at the memory of me and my best friend Latina and no shes not a real Latina her mother just loved the name. My best friend also now lived in Chicago and I have decided that I would join her. We use to live in a small town with only two stores and one  fast food place with nothing  more to do my best friend decided  it was time to change up a little.

I started unpacking more of the boxes when I ran across a picture of my parents. They had died in a car crash on the way to visit my grandma who also live in Chicago, by then i was 18 old enough to live on my own. They had left me the house and everything else. I finished school went to college and now im in Chicago. I put the picture on my table and started on a new box.

When i got down to the last box it was 8pm. tomorrow I would start my search to find a job. I looked around my now clean living room and shook my hand I cant believe im here let alone by myself. No room mate no loud music just me. Back in my home town I had no choice but find a room mate being as i didnt work and somebody had to pay the bills. When I moved away to college I sold my parents home to the girl that was staying with me.

I decided that I would cook up something and watch my favorite adult swim episode family guy.

I walked into my kitchen and turnt on some water deciding to make my favorite Mac and cheese. I didnt know how to cook until I moved to college and took a cooking class. I failed the class twice but the last time I got it straight. Cooking wasnt my best thing to do but it was something.

When my food was done I made my way to the living room and turnt on the TV and started watching my show. By the time all of the episodes was off it was now 1am. I cleaned up and headed for bed hoping I can find a job tomorrow.

TOMORROW MORNING.

I wake up to the smell of eggs and bacon and jointed up. I ran down stairs and there stood my best friend behind my counters cooking and singing. Dam I forgot I did give her a spare key. i stayed there wondering when she was going to notice me she never did.

I sit down at the table waiting for my plate to arrive or at least for her to turn around. I looked around my small kitchen. Im inlove with the color black my counters are black my oven is black and my table is black. everythings black.

She finally decides to turn around and dropped the plate of bacon and eggs.

"God how long have you been there" She said with her hand over her heart.

"Long enough to know you got some wicked moves" I get up and start doing the running man and we both burst into a fit of laughter.

"I just thought I would make you a good luck breakfast for your job haunting before i go to work"

I sit back down and shook my head I got the best friend in the world.

"Thanks Tina I really hope i get one".

"Well lucky for you i know the first place you should go." She take a seat across from me and start drinking on her coffee.

"And were is that" I grabbed the butter for my toast and spreaded it and took a bit loving the feel of the butter and toast in my mouth i closed my eyes and enjoyed it.

"CEO Mr Reed son is looking for a assistant hes a rough guy and he only likes the best there right above the office i work in you should come and apply".

I get up and put the remaining dishes in the sink and started working at them.

"I dont know Tina i mean im not the most smartest person when it comes to filing and appointment making and if he wants the best it wouldnt be me".

"Well its a start you have to start somewere". She looked at her watch and got up to put her cup in the sink. "Think about it". She gave me a hug and grabbed her bag and walked towards the door. "And dont forget our lunch date". With that she lefted.

I looked at the door in deep thought. Maybe I will check it out.
