The Truth About The Wiccan Religion

There are many types of religions to learn about, but one that is commonly misunderstood is the Wiccan Religion. The Wiccan religion is considered to be one of the oldest religions. It has always been about bringing harm to none. This is why they don't worship satan. But, If you've ever looked at books or searched about it on the internet. You'll see talk about trials from around the world and you'll see that they were accused of satanism and hanged. Over time, people have come to see what Wiccans really are, and they are given more respect as a religion.

Modern witchcraft is about the thought and will of the individual. It encourages learning and understanding nature, and giving respecting to all living things. It teaches responsibility for your actions, and if you make a mistake you have no one to blame but yourself. This is also a rule for most witches called the "threefold law". The threefold law is "what you send out whether positive or negative, it comes back to you three times" You may have heard of the term "karma", in fact this term is quite similar, except it works for kindness and comes back three times rather than just once. In case you don't know the difference between "Wiccans" and "Witches", the difference is Wiccans are members of the Wiccan religion that practices witchcraft. And witches are people who practice individually.

You may have heard of witches casting spells, this is half true. Witches do cast spells, but you aren't going to see glittery colored sparkles fly into the air like they do in fairytales! These spells consist of using your own will power to make things happen. Another stereotype you probably heard of is witches making potions; this is also half true. The potions witches make are not weird pots of water that have eyeballs and weird substances in them. They are more of medicines made from herbs and plants.

Now that you know what the culture is really about, you don't have to mistake witches as evil people who worshiped satan and rode on broomsticks. They are people just like you and me, but with different beliefs. So if you ever hear your friends talking about witches being weird evil creatures that deserved to be hanged, please correct them because you know this isn't true.
