"Dude! What, were you wrestling with the toothbrush or something?" Jisung asked me though his bursts of laughter. I sent him a glare from beside him, making him shut up. He coughed and looked away. I reverted my gaze to the window beside me, squinting because of the amount of sunlight pouring in. "Oh, by the way," Jisung started. "have you heard of the new girl whose coming in? Apparently, she was a complete psycho in her old school. Something about a murder or whatever."
Just then, I heard the door to the classroom open and I turned my head to face the front. Our teacher walked in with a girl in tow. We all stood up to greet our teacher.
"Yes, yes, good morning to you all too." She said and we lowered ourselves back to our seats. "We have a new student in this class." She gestured to the girl next to her.
I found myself tilting my head and squinting at her. She seemed so... familiar. She stood with her weight on one leg, her arms crossed in front of her chest. Her legs were covered in bandaged and her bangs fell over her eyes, which were frantically wandering the class in an almost sinister way. Her shoes were tattered and torn and her laces were undone. But... there was something about her... I just couldn't figure out what.
"Her name is Yoon Minji." Mrs. Jung gestured to her again. "Minji, say hi to the class."
But all the girl, Minji, did was blow her bangs out of her face. I smirked. She's interesting already.
"Shy, are we? That's okay, you'll open up eventually." Mrs. Jung said with her sickeningly sweet voice. "You can go sit there, behind Jisung." She said, pointing in me and my friend's direction.
Without saying a word, she walked down the row towards us. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. It's not even like she was pretty. She was a complete mess. But there was just something about her that interested me.
I heard her drag out her chair and throw her bag down like it was nothing. I glanced over my shoulder to see her slump down on her chair.
I looked to my right as Jisung winked at me with that awful smirk again. He suddenly whipped around in his seat and shove his open hand right into the new girl's face. I groaned and rolled my eyes. This kid is at it again.
"Hey, names Jisung." He said, but Minji just stared at him. Jisung cleared his throat and tried again. "Welcome to law class, your new hell." He said with the most idiotic smile. Minji didn't react though, she simple looked at his hand and scowled. I snorted and Jisung glared at me, turning back around in his seat. He pouted. "I hate it when girls play hard to get."
I held back a laugh as Mrs. Jung wrote some rule on the board. "What are you even talking about?" I whispered to him. "She isn't even that cute."
Jisung looked at me as if his eyeballs were about to pop right out. "Isn't that cute?" he exclaimed. "What, are you blind?" Didn't you see all the guys just stare at her walk past? I even saw Hyunjin checking her out from across the room and whispering something to Felix."
I snorted. "Y'all are crazy." I said, propping my arm up and resting my head on my hand. "Sooyoung is the pretty one." I sighed as I stared across the room at her.
Her, whose hair fell so gracefully over her shoulders. Her, whose laugh could even hypnotize angels. Her, whose teeth actually sparked. Her, who walked like a queen. Soonyoung...
"OW!" I exclaimed as I felt Jisung smack me on the back of my head. I shot him daggers as the whole class turned and stared at me. I heard a snort come from behind me and I snapped my head to look over my shoulder, but Minji was staring down at her notebook.
"Is there a problem Changbin?" Mrs. Jung asked.
"Oh, uhm, no. I just hit my finger on the desk." I replied as I glared at Jisung again.
"You know you don't have a chance with her man." Jisung whispered to me when Mrs. Jung turned her head again. "Hyunjin and her are already like, predetermined to be."
I grumbled as I rubbed the back of my head. This asshole, always ruining my dreams. Well I mean, he was right. There's no way that Sooyoung would be into someone like me, ya know, money aside. All the girls, including Sooyoung, fawned over Hyunjin. Gheez, there was nothing the guy couldn't do. He was tall, had a 'perfect physic' and was 'attractive', or so I've heard. Plus, he could dance. And really well at that. Dammit, why did dancing have to be the predetermined 'complete package' factor in this school? Who couldn't it be rap? The one thing I was good at? Well, I guess, then again, Hyunjin could rap too. I scoffed at Hyunjin's direction and turned my head to the front of the class again.
Maybe I should learn how to dance then...?
