My Day Off

I need school to be cancelled today. I forgot to do my summer assignment for AP Psychology. This summer has just been way too busy to get it done. Also, I have been really lazy on my days off.

"Mom, what am I supposed to do about my homework that I did not do?" I ask.

"Well, maybe you should have done it," she replies, as she cooks dinner.

"Mom, you know that I was busy all of this summer," I respond, as I set the dinner table.

"Boy, all you did this summer was sit around and do nothing."

"That is so not true mom."

"You literally were in your room for at least three-fourths of the summer watching Netflix all day."

"Ok fine, I was not super busy this summer, I had just been lazy everyday," I reply.

I realize that it was my fault for not doing any of my summer homework. But I could not go to school without doing my AP Psychology homework. I would be mocked and basically killed by my teacher and classmates. I needed to come up with a way to get school to be cancelled, even if it was just for one day. I start to think of ideas to cancel school. Maybe I could ice all of the roads? Or could I make a tornado appear? No that's impossible.

"Mom, I really need school to be cancelled," I tell her.

"Even though I do not want you to, why don't you just skip the first day," she answers.

There was an idea that I could work with. But I would miss seeing all of my friends after summer vacation. I would also miss meeting and getting to know all of my teachers. So I decided that I needed to come up with a plan that would cancel school for the entire high school.

I look over and see my mom boiling eggs on top of the stove. I see the flames rising and heating the water. Then it hits me. I should set the school on fire. Not completely, but enough to cancel school. This has to work. But how am I suppose to set the school on fire without getting arrested? I decide that I will take all of my old school papers and set them on fire; I will also wear a ski mask to cover my face.

"I'll just face the fire," I tell her, to not let her become suspicious.

"Ok, good for you honey," she answers.

I go to my room and gather all my papers and a lighter. I am all set for the following day when I would set the school on fire. I prayed that I wouldn't get caught and that no one would get hurt.

The following day I go to school before first hour begins. I take out the lighter and the papers and set them on fire. I set them down and watch as one of the classrooms catches on fire. I had done it, I was gonna get a day off school. I begin to walk out of the school when I see the flashing of red and blue lights. Crap, I had been caught.

"Get on the ground," screamed the cops.

I lay down on the floor as they handcuff me. I get put into the police car and was read my Miranda Rights. I was going to jail for arson. The sentence was up to 5 years, but at least I was able to get a day off school.
