Chapter 2
PAISLEY
I'm flying in mid air. Not gracefully, but like I'm falling in slow motion. I'm not sure where I am. I don't have a good sight of my surroundings. All I see is black and a low glowing spotlight on a girl about my age. She's kinda pretty, but I don't know her. I also can't really make out the details of her face but I can make out some. She has curly dark brown hair with lighter brown highlights, ocean blue-eyed, and sorta in the middle of tan and pale. I see that she also isn't bony skinny like me, she has curves and assuming she plays alot of sports with all the muscles in her arms and calves, although its not too much to the point where she looks like a guy. She's actually beautiful if you take her in from feature to feature for a minute.
She's looks shocked then she goes to knees and starts sobbing and puts her head in the palms of her hands and sits on the heels of her feet. She then brings her head up showing her wet face of tears and starts screaming my name "Paisley!!!!.......Paisley!!!!"........
"Paisley!Paisley!" I open my eyes and sit halfway up swinging my right arm up and whacking my little sister in the face. "Ow!" my sister complains.
"Well don't wake me up like that then." I protest unguilty.
"But you wouldn't wake up until I started screaming in your ear. Plus you looked like you were having a terrible dream so you should have thanked me." Annie explained. She's right though, I've been having that same dream for weeks now, not knowing what it means.
I pick up one of my extra pillows and bop it off the side of her head making her soft, silky, golden hair fall over her face leaving strands sticking out in all directions. "Thank you brat!" I say sarcastically with a smile and laugh a little.
She puts on a small smile but tries biting down her lips so her smile doesn't show, trying to make her look annoyed by me. Then says "anyways mom says to hurry up and get ready for school, she's driving you today." She skips out my room and closes the door. Leaving me in slight darkness.
School. Oh man. I jump out of bed and walk to my curtains that block out the light and open them. Bright light fills my room and I squint my eyes. A little to bright in the morning for me. So I walk sleepily towards my bathroom sink and turn on the coold water and splash it in my face to wake me up a bit.
I start doing my daily routine before school. Brush teeth. Use bathroom. Get dressed. Do hair. Put on shoes. Grab books and journals. Find phone. And snatch keys-Oh wait. I almost forgot. I dont need my keys, my mom's driving me. Man! I really wanted to drive my new camaro to school. The first day of school. I say to myself.
I walk down the stairs bouncing with each step. "Someone seems happy." said the familiar voice of a guy. I turn around sharply being a little startled. My eyes widen. "Michael!!" I yelped suprised but happy. I squeeze him the hardest I can and don't worry about squeezing too tight because I'm not that strong with these sticks for arms." Your back!" "Yup, and I have something for you." Michael tells me.
"You do?"
"Yeah, I got you something because I feel bad that a week after we got together I had to leave to work with my uncle Moses at his fish store." he explains.
"Oh. That would explain the smell."
"Yeah I took a shower but it really didn't help."
I laugh. He slides the book bag off his shoulders and un zips it. He takes out a pen with a fish-shaped eraser. "Here it is." he says giving the pen to me. "For your first day of school."
I scoff. "Gee.... thanks." I say not sounding very happy. He got me a pen? Some boyfriend. He sees my frown which I meant to hide but couldn't. He laughs "I'm just kidding. This is for you." He hands me a small cardboard box. I grab it and take the lid off and see two gold square earrings, on the edge is tiny diamonds around the perimeter of the small object.
I gasp. "They're beautiful! Are they real?" I take them out of the compartment and twist them between my pointer finger and thumb, examining the sparkle and shine within the light.
"The gold is. Diamonds aren't. Do you like them?" he ask hopefully. "No I don't like them." I respond straight with no emotion. His gray eyes sadden along with his face. I continue "I love them!" He smiles and we kiss. "And I love you." I didn't mean to say that. It just slipped. I was the first to say the big three words. He looks shocked and tells me straight serious "I love you too." I know he means it. His eyes say it all. We kiss again.
*************************************
My mom drops Michael off at his job then brings me to school. My school is 30 minutes away because it's the only one my family can afford now, ever since they paid for my car for my 16th birthday. The car is actually cheaper than the sweet sixteen party my mother wanted for me.
I walk through the double doors I never thought I'd pass. There's directions to major things every where. Nurse →. Counselor↑. Cafeteria ←. Gym↑. Sports Fields↑. Office →. I follow the office sign to get a paper with the name and room of my homeroom teacher. I see a long line coming out of the front office door, meaning I'm going to wait for a while.
I ask the guy at the end of the line "Exuse me, but what is this line for?" The guy turns around and starts checking me out. He looks disappointed, but then looks at my face and grins. "Well hey good lookin." He say smugly. I frown, "Not interested." I state very rudely, but I don't care. Who does this guy think he is? Mister cool and smooth? "Kay cutie. This line is for Athletics. The gym was closed so all the kids who want to be in a sport or are in the athletics class go here instead. I'm guessing this line isn't for you." He says sarcastically. This guy was getting on my nerves so I fired back "Yeah your right, but what about yourself. I don't think you belong here either shorty." I quickly walk past him bumping his shoulder.
I walk into the office past the line full of tall muscular teens. I'm kinda tall too, about 5'5 but thats nothing compared to these people. I see a girl in the line out of the corner of my eye about my height as well, she looks familiar but I dont know how i know her.
I dont pay much attention to her and I walk up to the office assistance line which actually had no one at all. I approached the creepy lady plastered with heavy make up and pointy glasses, her hair tightly put up into a tinny bun. I tell her my name and she starts typing then prints out a paper with my home room teacher and my schedule. This school is way different than my old one. Every has their cliques and groupies, everyone says a curse within every sentence, and the home room period is 3rd instead of 8th.
I realize that the first bell is about to ring and I start running to my english class. If the kids here are so rude, I'd hate to see what a teacher is like when she's mad. I finally spot the room door right at corner of a hallway and sprint too it I'm right at the door then BAM!! My butt hits the hard tile floor and I feel a slight sting. "Ow!" I say roughly. I look up and the girl who I saw in the office was right in front of me, assuming she's in pain the same way I am, with her eyes closed. When she opens them I suddenly realize with wide eyes...... that's her, I think to myself, that's the girl in my dreams.
