A couple of hours had passed when suddenly Stephanie was awoken by the sound of someone moving around, as she opened her eyes she quickly glanced at David and saw that he was still asleep. She then looked at Leon and saw him moving about on the bed.
"David wake up." she said as she stood up and walked towards Leon,
"David?! Wake up, Leon is stirring. Leon, don't try to move yet," she said as she gently held his arms to push him back down onto the bed, "you're too weak, stay still and I'll get you some more water, David?!"
Stephanie reached for the water and started to feed it to Leon again,
"Drink it please Leon. David come on wake up."
Getting no reaction from David, Stephanie looked down at him and noticed he wasn't moving at all. His face was looking flushed, beads of sweat were running down his skin, his shirt was soaked through and his left foot appeared to be twitching now and then.
"Shit," she said as she dropped the water in a panic, "David?!" she leant over him and checked his pulse, it was strong, and fast, too fast. She then gently pressed her hand on his chest, she could feel his heart beating so fast.
"David please wake up? Please?!" she desperately begged him.
At this moment in time Stephanie felt immense panic, Leon was barely conscious and David was completely unresponsive. As she tried to decide which to tend to first, Leon began moving again.
"David is that you?" he asked softly, "Water, more water please?"
Stephanie stood up and went back to Leon, she picked up the bottle of water that she had dropped. A bit had spilt but there was some left, she started to feed it to Leon again, "Leon can you hear me? I need you to wake up properly."
"More water." was the only reply that she had from him. He finished what was left in the bottle and again fell straight back to sleep.
Stephanie sat on the edge of the bed and looked back and forth David and Leon. Despite having David there and them finally finding Leon, she felt more alone than ever. Leon having more fluids helped slightly, so she turned her attention to David. Remembering his injury, she decided to check his wound. She lifted his shirt to find that the dressing was both blood and puss stained. As she slowly began to pull back the dressing, a fowl stench whiffed up towards her, whilst her stomach turned, she knew she had to check. As she continued to pull back the dressing, she noticed the area around the wound was very red, there were blisters around the edge and puss began to seep out and drip down his side. The inside of the dressing was stained both red and green, and Stephanie could clearly see that the wound was badly infected. She was no doctor but she knew for sure that David needed medical attention as soon as possible. Despite suddenly feeling queasy, Stephanie cleaned David's wound as best as she could, she then applied antiseptic cream and a fresh dressing. She got another bottle of water out of David's bag and attempted to give him some, although she had no luck. It was at that moment that Stephanie realised she would have to either successfully wake Leon or leave them both and go for help. She made one last attempt to wake Leon, as she gently shook his arm he began to wake up, he slowly opened his eyes and focussed on Stephanie's face,
"Who are you?" he asked softly, "where am I?"
"I'm Stephanie, I'm a friend of your brothers. You're at the cabin. Now I don't want you to panic but" before she could finish her sentence Leon interrupted,
"A friend of David's? Where is he?" He asked as he tried to sit up, realising how weak he was, he led back down and turned his head to the side, he saw David lying there on the floor.
