I gave off a confident smile towards all of my subjects as they huddled around to see me crown the prince and change him into a king. His eyes sparkled with joy as I lifted the delicate crown, placing it on a show for all of my subjects to view. My smile widened as I saw my loyal adviser standing in the crowd.
"Here in the Priosox Dimension, we honor everyone, including those who are immortal." My voice rung out around the crowd, stilling them all.
I nodded my head towards my adviser, who was a Griffin. "My rule will come to an end, and I will no longer have any say over this kingdom. I have decided that when the day does come, I will give my crown to my son, the prince."
Everyone clapped and cheered as they started to chant my son's name. I smiled and patiently waited for them to calm down before I began to talk again. "But," I proclaimed as soon as the crowd quieted, "He will only have this crown in three circumstances."
I noticed the prince stiffen out of the corner of my eye. "The prince must have a human queen."
Gasps echoed through the crowd, but nobody dared say against it. I talked it over with my adviser, and we both voted that the prince would be the one to bring the mortals into our world. Even if it was only starting with one.
"And secondly," I declared over the whispers, "He must share his power with his queen."
The prince swung around to peer at me with a frown. If this bothers you, my son, you won't be able to bear the last one.
"The last condition will be that he will be reborn into the mortal world, and forget where Priosox is.
He will find his queen there and come back here.
I have given this to the prince because it will take strength and intelligence." I yelled over the crowd.
I continued the celebration even as outraged shouts resounded from the crowd. "Do you accept these terms, Prince?"
The prince's eyes found mine and we stared at each other. The whole world seemed to blur out of my mind as we stood there gazing at each other.
"I accept these terms so I may rule over Priosox." As the prince declared this, the crowd hushed immediately.
I smiled and strolled over to my son. "I, King Perkinson, announce the prince as the new king."
I placed the crown carefully on his head, letting it sit there. Taking a step back, my single son near the edge of the crowd and kneel down.
He will bring a new era of unity and justice to everyone.
