May: 11 months A.G.

He'd been the first person to see her. It was at a party two towns over, some dude from a rival soccer team had thrown it and he'd shown up to have fun and piss off some people. Harmless teasing in a way. He was sure it was her for two reasons, the first being that the old Sian never went to parties. She claimed that she'd rather get drunk in the comfort of her own home instead that in a group of strangers who would definitely just leave her unconscious body on the makeshift dance floor until the sun rose. Which meant that the girl he'd seen fly by had to be the new Sian. The second being her eyes, everyone had always compared Ian and Sian's eyes. Her nearly fluorescent amber eyes contrasted greatly against his Caribbean ocean blue ones.

He truly only recognize her due to her eyes, everything else about her seemed to have changed. Her hair was shorter, straighter, she'd clearly lost a few pounds, but based on the look of pure exhaustion that she had attempted to hide, the weight drop hadn't been intentional. He was about to say hi, it had been a year after all, but he was abruptly stopped when he noticed the boy she was with. He definitely fit what his cousin would have labeled as tall, dark, and handsome; jet black hair, with a matching black ensemble, and a staggering 6"2'. Though as Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome continued to talk to Sian the more aggravated she became.

Ian was sure that if it weren't for the music her voice would have rung throughout the house. Unfortunately for his curiosity, the music did a solid job at deafening the crowd enough to keep the twos conversation private. Sian seemed to be ready to stomp off when the guy grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a hug. Sian immediately hugged him back, leaving Ian unsure of what he'd just witnessed or of what to do. Which is why the first thing he did was run out of the house, and call his cousin, Ryan.

After ten minutes of interrogating questions, Ryan finally gave in and accepted that there was a possibility of Sian being back. The worst part about accepting that, (for both of them) was accepting that she came back and hadn't told either of them. A couple of days later, when Ian was doing his normal summer routine (sleeping in until noon and playing video games for the rest of the day) he was interrupted by a curious phone call. The caller ID said Hank, (with whom he hadn't talked to for at least two weeks, since graduation).

Ian picked up, and carefully listened to Hanks rendition of his latest trip to the local supermarket. Where he'd run into a disappearing face. Once Ian hung up he sat on his couch feeling as perplexed as Hank had described feeling after his run in with Sian. Her reappearance in their lives was welcomed, it was beyond welcomed it had been expected for a year, yet all he could do was think of his unanswered questions.
