Friday night I wait up in my darkened room at 10:30 to hear a car honking. I have on my most casual dress and shoes, my window already open so no sudden noises would wake my father or brother. Finally I hear the car horn and I feel my stomach and heart lurch in nervous excitement. I scurry to the window and see Niall's car slowly moving past the house and down the street, just like we'd planned.
I listened for movement in the house and heard nothing. When I was confident I was in the clear, I slowly slipped out of the window, luckily my home was one story, and felt my foot hit the ground. As soon as my second foot hit the ground I was off in a mad sprint towards the tai lights ahead of me.
The night air whipped my hair behind me as I jogged to the car three houses down and pulled open the passenger door and slid in quickly.
"Ready?" I hear Niall ask on my left as I close the door behind me and settle myself in the seat.
"As I'll ever be," I responded with a smile. I look at Niall and he smiles in return, shifts his car and we are off down the road.
"Where are we going?" I ask still out of breath from my jog.
"Well I usually end up racing on Fridays, I meet the boys at the Frontier before we go down to the old flight strip down Military," Niall explains as he watches me sideways from his driving seat.
"Sounds fun."
"Just be careful and stick with me okay? If I tell you to do something, do it, okay?"
"Alright."
"I need a promise here, Bebe."
I sigh and look at him, "I promise Niall."

He drives around tot he back of the Frontier and I see two cars surrounded by four boys. They watch us as Niall parks beside one of the cars. As one opens the door for me I recognize the black hair and smile.
"Zayn right?"
"Good to see you, Beth," Zayn smiles and closes the door for me once I'm fully out of the car. They all watch me as I stride over to Niall's side and listen to him talk.
"I hear Nicholas is wanting to race you tonight," says Louis as he strikes a math for Liam to light a cigarette.
"When doesn't he?" Niall asks taking a cigarette and lighting it off the same match at Liam before Louis waves his hand to put the match out.
"He's been looking for you, he and his gang," Liam adds and takes a drag, "gonna race him?"
"If he's looking for me maybe I should," Niall shrugs and looks at me, "you think I should Bebe?"
"It's up to you," I smile and look at the boys.
"If you are I think he is at the Flame," Harry pipes up from half out of one of the cars, his elbows propped on the roof of it.
"Doesn't anybody have any food? I'm starving," Niall asks his friends and looks at all of them. When they all say no he sighs and goes to an ordering stall. When an attendant comes to him on her roller skates he orders then ushers me over.
"What'll you have miss?" the pretty blonde asks with her notepad in hand.
"Just a milkshake," I smile as she writes my order and Niall pays, telling her to keep the change after handing her two dollars.
"You really think we should race? He's a real whiner," Niall says leaning onto a nearby pole.
"Well if this Nicholas guy is looking for you I'd do it and show him how much better a racer you are," I smile and he laughs.
