-Narrator's POV-

Taking Place: The Flat

___

___

Ellie woke up in Jennifer's bed, with Jennifer sitting in her chair, doodling on her notepad. Ellie rubbed her eyes and groaned out of frustration. Frustration because she slept in one position and her back hurt like hell. Her vision was blurry, but luckily, she could see what time it was.

"3 in the mornin'?!" Ellie screamed out having Jennifer jump out of her own skin, metaphorically.

"Jesus, pipe down!" Jennifer screamed back, having Ellie laugh softly.

"Why weren't you sleeping?" Ellie whispered, asking Jennifer.

"I really didn't want to fall asleep, and I couldn't sleep. So, I stayed up." Jennifer replied, whispering towards Ellie.

"Oh. Well alright."

"You know, I watched you sleep, having your chest move up and down while you were breathing, your hair was somehow not messed up, and I swear to God, I fell in love with you even more."

Ellie didn't reply. She was dumbfounded.

"I'm sorry. I'll go make some coffee for the both of us." Jennifer said and walked out of the room.

She doesn't have to be sorry, Ellie thought. She got up to go downstairs, hearing her soft footsteps walking down the wooden stairs, reaching the sitting lounge. Before Ellie entered the kitchen, she heard mumbles inside the kitchen. Ellie stayed back and listened to Jenn talk to herself.

"God Jennifer. Get your shit together."

"Jesus, Jenn. El probably thinks you're fucking weird."

"Such a hormonal teenager, aren't you, Jenn?"

"Jenn, you better pray that Ellie doesn't think what you said was strange."

Ellie laughed at Jenn's comments, and decided to make her way into the kitchen. She slowly pushed her way inside, making sure the door doesn't make any sounds. Thankfully, it doesn't at all. Ellie made her way to Jennifer, wrapping her arms around the 18 year old who felt insecure of her own body.

"I don't think you're strange, Jennifer." Ellie whispered into the girl's soft brunette hair.

"I sure as hell think you do, Ellie." Jennifer replied.

"Well, I sure as hell don't." Ellie said, giggling softly.

She didn't receive a giggle from Jenn's cherry lips, but only a sigh and saw her hands pouring the coffee into the two mugs. Ellie let go of her waist and made her way to the dining table. She sat down and saw Jennifer coming her way with the two mugs, and a packet of oreos, holding everything all at once somehow. Ellie just stared at her movements around the table, placing a mug in front of El, placing the packet of oreos in the middle of the table, and a cup for herself.

"So, how'd you sleep?" Jennifer asked, starting a conversation.

"Good, I guess." Ellie replied.

Jennifer nodded her head, and started to eat an oreo, biting on the cookie softly and chewing quietly. She took a sip of her coffee and swallowed the burning drink, having the liquid going down her throat.

"I'm having friends over around noon. Is that alright?" Ellie asked.

"Yeah. I'll leave so you guys can do whatever, and then you can text me when to come back home." Jennifer replied, taking another bite of her oreo.
