Apologies And Forgiveness

When I woke up, I was in a white room with a machine beeping from my heart rate. I was about to get up when I felt someone holding onto my hand. I turned to look to see that it was dad as everything was coming back to me. I was about to lay back down when I yelped because of I felt some pain shoot up my back. I guess I was a bit too loud 'cause dad shot-up and when he saw that I was awake, he engulfed me in a bear hug making me cry out in pain. He quickly let go of me as he helped me lay back down before speaking, "Never do something like that again, I was so worried when the bots got you out of there with you unconscious. Understand?" I looked down while nodding my head as I felt guilty for making dad worry about me. I never meant to, but I was so upset about what Cody said to me that I wasn't thinking. I was about to apologize when the door opened and the Burns family came in, each holding get well-cards and gifts for me as they walked towards me. But what shocked me was that Cody was there as well with an apologetic smile on his face as came towards me. We stared at each other for a bit in awkward silence until Cody spoke up. "Look Y/n, I'm sorry for what I said to you, I didn't know how you had reacted to that until the bots told me about what happened. I didn't know that made you run away, I'm really sorry about.", Cody said. I stared at him in shock before I started to look at his eyes to see if he was telling the truth and I realized that he was, I smiled. "It's okay Cody. I've should've told you who my dad was before and explained everything. It's just that nobody back on the mainland ever gave me a chance to explain or even listen to me when I told them who I was related to. But now we can both start over and try to get to know each other. So what do say friends?" I asked as I held out my hand to him while smiling. Cody smiled back as he took my hand with his before saying "friends". And so my new life on my new home began........
