POV: Charlie

Packing at home and unpacking at her dorm was the hard part, but it was worth it if it meant having her old room in a new space. Though her boxes were mostly full of Pop! characters and other fandom memorabilia, she had a large amount of printed tees and colored jeans. Charlie hung up her clothes on new hangars she picked up from the closest Target, as well as putting together a small metal shoe rack to place her various hues of converse. The walls were bare because of the fact she could not drill any holes into it. That meant no shelving to place all her figures. With a sigh, Charlie attempted to cram it all on her dresser and bedside table, a few finding their way onto the tv cabinet.

Then it was time to hang up her most prized possession...

her rainbow flag she ordered a few months prior.

This was the one exception for poking tacks into the paint and plaster.

Satisfied with the aura her new home was giving off, she set out for a good burger before orientation began.

Three days later, while playing the newest chapter of the Harry Potter Lego video game, Charlie heard a knock at the door.

"Hello. You are Charlie, yes?" A bold voice asked. The voice was attached to a young woman, a heart shaped face companied with rich brown hair pulled into a twisted bun.

"Y-yeah." Charlie stood for a long minute, staring at the tall girl with a look you would only give a queen.

Clearing her throat, the girl brought Charlie back to reality.

"Yeah. Yeah, sorry. You're my roommate, yeah?" Charlie babbled.

Sharing a small chuckle with herself, the girl replied. "Yes." Stretching out a lengthy arm. "Charlie, nice to meet you. Dorothy."

"Dorothy." Charlie muttered to herself. "Come in." Charlie left a gap in the doorway for Dorothy to squeeze through, hand still on the doorknob. "Any more boxes?"

"Just the two." Dorothy replied, making the two containers jump in her arms. She dropped the boxes down on the empty bed.

"I'll go pick up some grub. What do you like?" Charlie wondered, grabbing the keys to her summer-yellow ride.

"Anything delicious." Dorothy winked.

POV: Dorothy

As Dorothy unpacked, she noticed Charlie's rainbow flag. Smirking to herself, she pulled out a small, circular pin adorning the rainbow in shiny enamel waves. Dorothy was glad to have a queer roommate. It was always nice to have a friend, Dorothy thought.
