Chapter 7- the fires of ____

As the sweat slowly drips down your forehead, you look up at Ganz with hope in your eyes that you were getting close to an exit. He slowly looks down at you and seems surprised that you are looking back at him. He jumps back a Little in shock. "What do you want?" He says looking away.
"Are we close, to an exit I mean?" You answer.
" it's not that cool to answer a question with a question. " He says chuckling at his own joke. You suddenly realize what he said and start to snicker. This was a side you had never seen.
"What's this side of you?" You ask with a smirk.
" What you don't like it? " he says with a hint of concern .
"No! I absolutely love it! It's  much better than Mr. Grouchy pants!" You yell and stomp around with an angry look on you face. Ganz brust out laughing. But something behind him caught his eye, the core. He instantly seemed sad, clenching his shaking fist.
You look at the core and back at him "What's wrong?" You ask.
" Oh" he says in shock seeming as he had drifted off. "Its just... Bad memories."
" can you tell me? " you ask with a small smile.
"You wouldn't understand. " He says clenching his fist.
You turn and look at the thing that is a struggle for your guide.
"Hey!" You say, lightly punching his shoulder. " this thing doesn't have to be the CORE of your troubles! " You laugh at yourself.
"Heh, yeah." He starts to continue on.
You walk with him quietly along the strip of land. Slowly looking up at him once and awhile. "I have this feeling." You say looking down, your skin slightly glowing . "That more than one dramatic event happened here. I don't know, just a thought."
Ganz clenched his fist, " your hunch is correct. " He sits down in front of the core, let's dangling off the side, slowly kicking. You crouch down slowly next to him, before getting into the same position yourself. "A while ago, Me and a now not so close friend, tried to get a human like you through the underground." He pauses and sighed. " they Um... We're stopped and killed. I am responsible for their death. ME. If I would have fought back against Mettaton. They sound of. " he chocked up. You wanted to ask who Mettaton was, but right now it didn't seem right. You carefully put your arms around him.
"It wasn't your fault." You whisper quietly.
He burst out crying. "SHUT UP!" You retract your arms. " It...should have been me. "
You stand up quickly. "No, it shouldn't have! If you weren't here...I....I would of died before this point!" You start to cry as well . "Everyone does die at some point. Even if I do die on this journey.'' You break down on to your knees. "I am happy to have gone this far with you." You hear hanged low as tears stream down your face. Thinking that you were on deaths door made you sick. You feel his boney hand tilt your head up. The tears starting to slow down, he weakly smiled at you. You did the same. "Im.....sorry.... I have been such a headache to protect." He pulls you close into an embrace .
"Like you said, it shouldn't have been me and it shouldn't be you." Ganz whispers. " it's hard to think that it isn't my worst story. " he gives a weak laugh. "My father.. Sure he was abusive, but I still loved him. I watched him fall and die." He looks up to the core and continues , " I was there, he told me to leave. I didn't want to, he pushed me away. I watched and cried out to him before he stabilized it to just explore in 1 area, the one he was in. " his shoulders drop.
"Yeah, your damaged, but not beyond repair. Come on, whatever comes out way we can do this!" You say standing up and smiling. " now come on... Let's get out of this place. "
"Agreed." He said softly. You lightly put your arm around him until he is able to withstand walking by himself. He seems to much calmer and more open around you. This Hotland really lightened him up.
