Dream of Me || Jelsa Fanfic

Prologue

Cold. That is all I could feel. I am standing at the edge of a cliff, looking at the sea. It was so quiet, but very cold. Where the hell am I?

"I am a curse.."

I froze when I heard a voice. A woman's voice. I thought I'm all alone, but where did it come from?

"I deserve this.."

There it was again. I looked behind but saw nothing, I can feel the temperature drop. It's so cold.

"Why can't I make it stop?!"

Snow started falling above me, the wind howling making me shiver from the cold. I hugged myself, hoping to ease the chills, but it won't work. What's happening?!

"WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME SUFFER?!"

Then everything started to freeze. The sea is slowly being covered with ice, my clothes are covered with frost. It's a blizzard.

"Why?! What did I ever do?!"

I started to run. Searching for the source of the voice and at the same time, running away from the freezing land. I can't see anything because of the strong winds and snow.

"Make it stop!"

I can't stop anymore. Something is telling me I have to go to her. I ran as fast as I could, not minding the freezing cold of the storm. I have to get to her, but why?

Then it stopped. Everything froze, the snow, the wind, and so did I. There's a girl infront of me, her back facing me, her long platinum blonde hair, flowed freely in her back, her long blue cape stopping near my toes. I stared at her, that's when I noticed her shoulders shaking and her quiet sobs.

"Why can't we have a happy ending?" she softly whispered.

That brought tears in my eyes. I'm confused! Why am I affected?! Why?! Why do I want to hug her? To comfort her?! Why?

My thoughts were interrupted when she turned around. My heart stopped for a moment, then it beated faster. Her eyes grew wide when she saw me. Her eyes held happiness, longing and another that I cannot describe.

She is so beautiful. Why does she look so familiar?

"Jack Frost.."

She whispered my name with fondness. She knows my name, but she got my surname wrong, but why does it felt so right.

Her eyes then held sadness when she saw the confusion in my face. Tears welled-up in her eyes as she took a step closer. But she closed her eyes and took a step back. Her eyes opened and stared at me full of longing and utter sadness. Why does it hurt?

"Jack.. I'm sorry.. but.. she wouldn't stop. She hates me. I love you.. but I don't want to hurt you anymore.." she said then the tears fell.

"I love you... I love you.. I love you.. be happy. I won't bother you ever again.." she said with finality and took confident steps towards me.

I can't move. I'm frozen in place when she stopped, her face inches away from mine. She slowly closed the distance but whispered, "I love you", then she kissed me.

Her lips felt soft, yet cold against mine. It felt so wonderful and familiar to me. She pulled away amd caressed my face. She stared at my eyes and smile, not because of happiness, but a smile showing sadness.

"Goodbye.. Jack.."

Then everything disappeared and I was enveloped with complete darkness.
