A/n-- If you understand the reference in my title, I love you. If not, Google it and listen to it, it's beautiful. On with the Lams!
~Alexander's POV~
Okay. Okay. I just need to get to my dorm. No biggie, not like I'd get lost or anything... I look down at my map, and sigh in frustration. Why the hell is this map so complicated? I can't even tell how to hold it! As I'm turning my map around multiple times, trying to figure out how the heck I should hold it, a woman walks up behind me. I don't even notice her until she taps lightly on my shoulder. I jump in surprise.
"Sorry if I scared you," she says, smiling, "but do you need help getting to your dorm?" I quickly look around to see that there are dozens of people I could have asked for help from, instead of looking like a complete idiot. I turn back to the girl. "That would be wonderful, thank you so much." She briefly explains how everything in the map works in relation to each other-- where the dorms are to the Science building, where the library is to the History building, and so forth. Wow, she's really good at explaining this... I'm kinda embarrassed that I couldn't figure it out... "... which is conveniently placed in the center of everything, isn't that great?" I snap back from my thoughts.
"Sorry?" She smiles. "I said that it's great that the dorms are in the middle of everything. Anyways, what's your room number?" I look at a flimsy piece of paper with all my class and dorm info. "Two hundred seven," I say, squinting. "Oh, cool! You just have to keep straight down this walkway until you get to the third building on your right. Second floor, obvi, and seven doors down. Good luck!" I smile at her. "Thanks for your amazing help. May I ask your name?" Her nearly permanent smile drops. "Oh... Did I not tell you? My bad. Angelica Schuyler. And you are?" I'm relieved she's smiling again. "Alexander Hamilton. It was a pleasure to meet you." She shakes my hand firmly. "Well, I have to go help the other discombobulated freshmen, so I hope I see you around!" As she's turning around, I say to her, "Wait... How did you know I was a freshman?" She giggles. "No offense, but it was kind of obvious..." I turn red, remembering my map troubles before she explained it to me. "Well, bye!" She said. "Bye," I mumble, still embarrassed. I turn to face the direction of my dorm, and start walking.
Time skip because I'm the author, I can do whatever I want to ;)
When I get to my dorm room, I take a deep breath, and walk in. "Hi, I'm Ale--" My jaw drops. Sitting in front of me, playing the cello, is the most beautiful man I have ever seen. His eyes are a rich green, and his fingers move quickly across the fingerboard. His vibrato is impeccable. I don't even think he noticed I came in... I sit down and watch him play.
A/n-- just pretend that person is playing this, it's my favorite piece by Bach. I can play it on the violin :)
When he finishes, I ask him, "Is Bach your favorite composer? I personally favor Tchaikovsky, but Bach is definitely my second favorite." He jumps at my presence, and quickly tries to put his cello away. "Oh, I-I'm sorry. I didn't realize you came in. I just thought I had a few minutes to myself, it was foolish of me to even bother--" I put my hand on his. His face goes red. "What are you talking about? That was beautiful. I wish I could play like that." His face turns an even deeper shade of red. I smile at him. "I'm Alexander Hamilton." His eyes meet mine. "John Laurens." We shake hands, and I realize this is the first time I've gotten to look straight into his eyes.
His eyes are a deep green, with flecks of goldish-brown. He smiles at me-- a perfect, innocent smile. I look up reluctantly from his eyes, and my jaw nearly drops when I see how poofy his hair is. "Whoa, John, what happened to your hair?" He giggles, and I swoon. No, I think. I can't fall for him. I JUST MET HIM. "I made a mistake... My friend let me borrow his hair dryer. Oh, well." Not, "Oh, well," I want to tell him. You're beautiful. I refrain from telling him, though.
Yet another time skips! Imma rip a hole in the space/time continuum if I keep this up! Kidding. On with the fic.
As I'm lying in bed, I listen to John's light snoring, and smile. No No NO! I can't fall for him... But... I think I already have... I sigh in frustration. well... As long as I like him... I might as well fanboy over every articulation of speech and movement that I've noticed. Yummy.
And so, Alex, starts liking John. Yayyy! Sorry this chapter was kinda stupid, but it will be getting better! Hang in there! See Ya!
