Two eight year olds without a care in the world playing happily in the courtyard of Moorvast castle
One was a sweet little boy known as Prince Leon, which his mother likes to call him, little Lee.

The young heir would uaually get embarrassed by the nicknames, go red in the face and throw a tantrum, but everyone knew he secretly liked it.

The other eight year old was a little girl, people would usually class her as an odd person but the little prince liked that about her. She had clear pale skin, medium length chocolate coloured hair and big round doe eyes. Her name, Susie Landon.

Everything was calm and quiet, the parents were inside discussing their beloved children's betrothal, while the two friends were enjoying the hot summers day.

Little did they know that that was the calm before the storm.

Soon it was nighttime, The Landon Family was staying the night, and both future rulers were tucked up in bed sleeping soundlessly.

"Mummy, daddy !" The prince exclaimed, Little Lee was scared, he had just woken up from a nightmare about a monster coming to get him.
The boy ran for the door in search for his parents but the momentum of pushing himself out of bed at that rate was far too much for his tiny figure to handle, and so his feet gave up on him causing him to fall over, in the process knocking his head on the door sending black dots patching his sight and making him dizzy.

He forced himself to stand up,pushing his limits as he limped towards the castle doors which were now unattended.

Laughing was heaes coming from the west wing, also known as the forbidden wing. Though the laughing sounded off, there was a bad feeling in the pit of his gut and he didn't like it one bit.

This wing was supposedly being renovated for some unknown reason but the imagination of a child made his thoughts go elsewhere .

With each step he took his vision worsened more and more, making him feel light  headed  and ready to collapse.

The next few moments were only vague to him, as he was approached the door which had light seeping through the cracks along with his parents soothing voices.

He swung the door open and saw his parents eyes gaping in horror. The uneasy feeling was back as he felt a shiver crawl up his spine.

Slowly he turned his head around and only slightly in the corner of his eye was a dark figure, he could have ran straight for his parents arms, only if it wasn't for the fact he was already injured. Before he knew it, he blacked out.

He heard ear-splitting screaming, blood entering his line of vision, a blade shining from the light, nothing was clear. Everything was on and off. Different scenes kept flashing through his mind, from his parents kind smiling faces to the tear stained one's covered in blood and scrunched, while shouting for help.

Leon couldn't do anything, he just sat there and watched, clamping on his head for dear life asking for this nightmare to end, when everything turned quiet.

~

The King shot up from his bed gripping on his sheets for safety, sweat trickling down his forehead, and a few tears circling his vision.

That's the most he's ever remembered of the worst day of his life. 9 years and it's still and uncovered mystery.

Taking a breather he looked at the time which was only four in the morning. Laying back down for rest Leo tried to catch up on sleep, but the mind racing thoughts were zooming through his head a mile a minute, like the unorganised mess it was.

It was obviously going to be a good day.
