I didn't wake up to the usual sunlight streaming through the window. I sat up and looked at the clock on my bedside table. 11:30am. I sighed, knowing that meant it wasn't going to be a nice day. Yawning, I hopped out of bed and drew back the curtains. Sure enough the sky was grey and it looked like it might rain later on. This was the kind of weather I was used to though.
I dragged myself through to the kitchen and got myself a bowl of cereal. I was sure it was going to rain later on so I was going to do my usual walk along the beach slightly earlier. I went to take a shower and wash my hair. I had long, light brown hair which lay in loose curls down my back.
I step out the bathroom, after finishing my shower, and walked over to my wardrobe. I pulled out some black, skinny jeans, a loose blue top and a blue plaid flannel. I changed and dried my hair, deciding to keep it natural and wavy. I didn't ever wear a lot of makeup but I applied the usual foundation and mascara.
I walked over to the front door and put on my jacket and a pair of black Vans. I picked up my phone and plugged in my head phones and clicked the shuffle button. The song Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood came on. I smiled to myself because I loved this song and walked out the door, humming the tune as I went.
I had been walking for about 5 minutes now and was by the beach again. I took out my phone to switch songs. As I was looking down, I collided with someone. "Sorry," came a strangely familiar, thick, Aussie accent.
"It's alright. It was my fault," I muttered still looking down at my phone. The person chuckled slightly. I had defiantly heard that laugh before, I thought, looking up. The man was tall. He wore a denim jacket with a hood that cover his sandy blonde, curly hair and was holding a starbucks.
I placed a hand over my mouth and looked up onto his green eyes. It was him. My sunshine. Ashton Irwin. "Ashton," I breathed.
"Yep," he giggled flashing his adorable dimples. "That would be me," he said rubbing the back of his neck with his musclular arm. I couldn't belive this. I almost didn't go out at this time. If I hadn't changed the song I may have just walked straight passed him. I was so lucky. I had met him completely by chance.
"Can I please get a photo?" I asked, trying to bring myself back to reality.
"Sure, of couse," he said casually. I unlocked my phone and smiled. I took the photo. "Hey," Ashton started. "I'm not doing anything so if you don't have to be somewhere I could walk you down to this cafe and we could..." he trailed off. "I mean only if you want to."
"Really? I mean yes that would be great," I said as casually as I could, trying desparatly to hold the excitement in my voice back. He smiled, showing those dimples again and I started to blush.
"So are you a fan?" he asked. I nodded my head in response, almost too stunned to say anthing. Ashton laughed. "Well then, thank you for supporting us. We owe all our success to people like you," he said beaming.
"Thank you, I guess. From all of the 5sos fam," I replied shyly.
"You don't sound like you're from around here. Where are you from?" he asked as we walked into the cafe.
"Its kind of a long story but basically I moved away from my home in Scotland because my parents well... They kind of hate me I guess..." My eyes pricked slighly but I blinked back the tears.
We were sitting at the corner table of the cafe by the window. Ashton brushed my hand and I looked up. "I'm sure they don't hate you," he said, giving me a weak smile which I returned.
"You don't understand, Ash. You dont know them," I almost whispered. He gave me a comforting smile.
"Would you like something to drink... Um... You didn't tell me your name," he said clearly trying to change the topic which I was grateful for.
"My name's Belinda," I smiled. "Or Be. Which ever you prefer to call me." He laughed
"Alright, Be, would you like anything to drink, eat? I've already got something," he laughed again, holding up his Starbucks for me to see.
"Can I please have a short, Caramel Mocha, please?"
"Of course," he replied. "I'll be right back."
I just sat there wondering how this could have happened. I went from being extremely unlucky to one of the luckiest people in the world within a matter of seconds.
Sorry that the first few chapters are so short. I'm just trying to get into the story a bit. Hope thats okay and thank you for reading! :)
