*Not Edited- Casey's office is above
Casey had managed a whole week at her new job before something went wrong. She didn't even know what she had done to make her printer hate her. As it was, she currently sat underneath her desk tinkering with the stupid thing. "Fuck, why won't you stop fucking printing?" Cass had managed to print earlier with no problem and now the thing wouldn't stop flinging copies out at her. She continued to curse at it until she heard a hearty laugh come from above her. Since her first day Casey had been busy with her work and hadn't seen Samuel but in passing. He always seemed to be cheerful and offered her a smile and a hello every time he saw her.
"Need some help?" Samuel bent down beside her to see what the problem was. He reached over her and pressed a couple buttons effectively stopping the printing. Casey blushed when he gazed her bare shoulder. Her blazer had been removed earlier when the printer started to act up. She didn't know why his touch had such an effect on her. She had never been so effected by James. "Thanks."
Casey felt flustered as she moved to stand up, effectively bumping into Sam in the process. He instinctively reached out to steady her. "No problem," he whispered realizing how close they were. He had to restrain the urge to kiss her. Cass didn't move, she enjoyed Sam's hands being on her hips. She stared up into his green eyes until someone cleared their throat. They both immediately separated realizing they had company.
Felix stood at the door with a knowing smirk on his face. "Hey boss, hey sugar." He held two cups in his hands having just made a coffee run for him and Casey. He passed the latte off to Cass and then took a sip of his own. Felix wondered what might have happened between the two if he hadn't of barged in.
Samuel frowned when Felix called Casey sugar. Even though he knew without a doubt that Felix was gay it still bothered him. What was this woman doing to him? He had hardly gotten the chance to see her all week. Which was the reason he was in her office this very second. Sam had come to see how her first week had gone. He had walked in only to find her cursing at her printer. She had the mouth of a sailor and where some would find that an offensive feature in a woman, he loved it. The tight pencil skirt she had been wearing hadn't helped things.
"Thanks Felix. Mr. Greyson was just helping me fix my printer. I couldn't get the damn thing to stop printing." Casey explained before tasting her coffee. She felt a little out of breath after her encounter with Sam. She had vowed to keep things strictly professional even though her body was telling her otherwise.
"Uh huh, anyways I better get back to work. I won't be home for dinner so don't wait up, love." Felix told his best friend with a wink.
Once Felix had left, Casey let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Why did he have to wink? It wasn't like they had been doing anything inappropriate. Sure her thoughts had been very inappropriate but she hadn't acted on them...yet.
"Well, I better let you get back to work then." Sam rubbed the back of his neck feeling oddly nervous after their close encounter. Something about her made his skin tingle, along with other things. He began to walk out of her office until he paused at the doorway.
"Since you're gonna be alone for dinner, maybe you would consider joining me? I was going to make some my mom's lasagna and it's a lot for just one person." He cursed at himself for sounding so awkward. Was it inappropriate for a boss to ask his employee to join him for dinner? Maybe. It was definitely inappropriate when he hoped it turned into something more than just dinner.
Casey had watched Sam retreat and then stop at the doorway. She hoped he didn't catch her lingering stare. Those blue slacks just fit him too well. Cass was surprised by his question. Her instinct was to say hell yes, but was having dinner with your boss that you had dirty thoughts about a good idea? She was gonna find out.
"I'd like that. Lasagna is one of my favorites, but I never get to make it because Felix is a vegetarian and a lasagna without meat is a crime." She laughed nervously, and looked down at her shoes. What the fuck was she thinking having dinner with Samuel? The man she's been having wet dreams about ever since she had her job interview.
"Perfect. I have your number so I'll text you my address and a time later."
Casey sighed when Sam finally left her office, closing the glass door behind him. She plunked down in her chair and drained the rest of the coffee Felix had brought her. So many questions were running through her head.
What do I wear?
Should I wear something sexy or would that be weird?
Maybe I should go with something comfortable, like jeans and a sweater?
No that's probably not enough or is it?
Why the fuck am I so nervous?
Casey groaned and reclined back in her office chair. She had no fucking clue what she had just gotten herself into. Her mind was telling her one thing but her body was saying another. Impulsive wasn't a word in her vocabulary, but ever since James had fucked her over she had a need to live a little on the edge. Well as much as she could without falling off the cliff.
Cass had felt broken ever since she had caught James cheating with his whore of a colleague. She hadn't been good enough. She had worked too much. Maybe she had just been bad at sex. These thoughts constantly sat at the back of her mind and this impending dinner with Sam had only brought them up again. He was sexy as hell, but he was her boss. Casey couldn't fuck him when she had only just gotten the job. It was all so wrong, but for one time time in her adult life Casey wanted to be wrong. She wanted to take a risk, she wanted to damn herself to hell and see where this thing went with Sam.
Cass took out her phone and texted the one person she knew would embrace this impulsive decision. Hell, he would probably celebrate the fact that she was being so not herself.
"I think I have a date with our boss tonight. Help."
"Damn you work fast. I knew there was something going on when I walked in earlier. Get it girl ;)
Wear those black jeans that make your ass look incredible and something low cut on top. Sensual yet still somewhat conservative. I expect all the deets tomorrow."
Casey smiled at Felix's response before another unknown number texted her.
"528 Lake Shore Dr, Apt. 9205. You can come by anytime after seven :) -Sam"
Perfect. She had exactly six hours to figure out what the hell she was doing before. Casey saved his number in her phone and then shot back a reply.
"Sounds good, I'll probably be there around 7:30. See you then :)"
She turned her attention back to the work that was sitting in front of her, but unfortunately her mind kept going to the man she was having dinner with. "What am I doing?"
A/N:
And there's chapter two! I hope to have another chapter up by the end of the week if I'm not too busy with school.
Also I have no clue how to make chapter one & this one public. They were automatically set at private?
Let me know what you guys think!
