Heavy emotions and thoughts suddenly rushed back to me and I jolted awake. My body was trembling and covered in sweat. A few seconds later I had realized that my alarm was the one that woke me up. I turned the alarm off.

I was so close to peace. I could feel my problems vanishing. I mumbled.

I stayed in bed for a minute to calm my body down and enjoy the sweet sound of silence. My body eased and I reached for my phone, it read 7:02 AM. Guess it's time to wake up.

A few minutes later I finished getting ready. I checked my phone again and it read 7:15 AM. It was still pretty early so I sat down on the floor beside my bed. I thought about eating breakfast but I don't really eat breakfast so why start now? As I thought that, a memory of my mom came up. She would always tell me not to miss breakfast.
. . .
I miss her. I miss dad too.

Flashback

Mom? Dad? I'm home from school! I didn't hear a reply but instead saw a note on the table. "Going to buy groceries be back soon. Love Mom and Dad." Now knowing where they were, I put down the note, changed into clean clothes and turned on the TV. But not long after, I received a call.

Unknown:
Hello is this Y/N?

Y/N:
This is she, who is calling?

Unknown:
I am calling on behalf of XXX Hospital and I regret to inform you that your parents have gotten into a car accident. At the moment they are both in unstable conditions. The person that had crashed into your parents was under the influence of alcohol and soon arrested. Please make your way to XXX Hospital ASAP.

I quickly rushed to the hospital and was anxiously waiting outside the room where both of my parents laid.

After a long period of time a doctor came out. Doctor did they make it?!? Please tell me they did and they're fine. The doctor stayed silent for a second and then said "I'm sorry, your parents did not make it." After hearing those words I broke down feeling mixed emotions of anger, sadness and loneliness.

It's been 2 years since that happened. I somehow managed to finish school and find a job. But my life was living hell. At my job, my boss and co-workers knew about my parents and their accident. Sometimes at work I would break down and cry. So at work my boss let me off work whenever I needed and helped as much as he could. My co-workers didn't like that even though they knew. They thought it wasn't fair and decided to take action against me. Occasionally they would trip me, push me around and try to get me fired. But despite that I tried to remain calm and collected.

8:00 already? Time to go to work.
