Based On: The song Fall. I’ve kind of already written one shots about how they’ve gotten together, so this one was hard. Well I hope you like the first one shot of the “Believe” Series. Comment what you think, and tell me the song you want next in my ask. Enjoy(:
“Justin,” Taylor hissed into the phone. “Get you butt down to Selena’s house now. Nick broke up with her, again.” Justin could practically hear the ice in her voice. “I have to catch a flight. Please come over.”
“I’ll be there in ten minutes.” Justin grabbed his car keys and shot out of the house. He drove full speed to Selena’s house, probably breaking the speed limit on every street. Justin bounded up Selena’s porch and was greeted by Taylor Swift’s frantic embrace.
“Thanks for coming Jay. You know I would usually stay over, but I really have to go. Take care of my girl,” Taylor commanded with such authority. Before he knew it, she was gone.
“Sel?” Justin called tentatively as he made his way into her house.
“Don’t come in, I’m a mess!” she shouted back through her tears.
Justin swallowed; he could already hear the pain in her voice. Make her smile. He thought to himself. That was the goal; that was always the goal. Justin ignored Selena’s request and made his way to the living room where Selena was curled up beneath a blanket. Justin’s face fell immediately. “Oh, Sel…”
“I know, I’m so stupid to feel this way,” Selena blubbered, looking away from him.
He raced to the couch and pulled Selena into his arms. “You’re not stupid.” She curled her body around him and he gently stroked her hair and her arms. She cried and cried. He just held her for who knows how long. He kissed the top of her head softly and whispered against her hair, “Do you want me to kick his ass?”
“Yes,” she looked up at him with a small smile on her face. Justin’s insides beamed right back, but he knew that it still wasn’t enough.
“Alright, give me his address,” Justin pulled out his IPhone and pulled up the Google maps app. “It’ll take me ten minutes.”
“You will not go beat him up! I was joking,” Selena playfully swatted his leg with a giggle.
“That’s my favorite sound, your laugh,” Justin murmured so quietly that Selena couldn’t hear.
She leaned back against the couch and tilted her head upwards. Her eyes found the ceiling and she let out a deep breath. “It’s probably my fault, isn’t it? I keep letting him break my heart.”
“Hey, don’t ever blame yourself for this,” Justin pulled Selena back to eye level. “You are the most beautiful, kind girl that I have ever met. It’s his fault for letting you go.”
Selena blushed with a tiny smile playing on her lips, “You know that you’re my best friend.” Justin looked down. There was that word again. Friend. Is that all?“What’s wrong?” Selena asked noticing Justin’s shift in mood.
Did he really want to do this now? He sighed before looked straight into Selena’s sweet brown eyes. “You know how I feel.”
“Justin…” Selena trailed off slowly moving her body away from him. “I don’t want to lose our friendship. You mean so much to me.”
“And, you mean so much to me,” Justin threw her words back at her. But when he said them, they meant so much more.
“I can’t get hurt again,” Selena fought against him quietly. “Losing you would tear me apart.”
“I’m won’t hurt you.” Even she could not deny the promise in his voice.
They looked into each other’s eyes. In that moment, Selena realized the depth of his feelings for her. Maybe she realized her own. Justin knew that if Selena were to fall for him, he would love her with everything in him. If she were to fall, he would catch her.
