Emmalie is just a normal girl, living her day to day life in a town where being LGBT is not right. While growing up, she always knew that she didn't like the boys in class. She knew that she liked girls from the moment she saw Malia. You see, Malia and Emmalie have been best friends since they were about six years old. They've grown up together, so naturally her cursh isn't so unexpected. That's what Malia thought as well, which is why she told Emmalie how she felt about her. The conversation went on so smoothly, you wouldn't have been able to tell that they were both freaking out on the inside. Emmalie, in turn, revealed her feelings towards Malia. They both had a moment of astonishment, and then they were confused as to what should be done next. Four days later, they decided to end the awkward silence, and start dating. It was magical. You would walk down the hall ways and see the two of them holding hands and being all happy. The honey moon phase didn't last long though. After seven months of being together happily, Malia arrived at school with some awful news. Her father found out that she had a girlfriend, and she had to break up with Emmalie by the time she got home or else. Emmalie and Malia both broke down and cried in the middle of the cafeteria, with eyes staring them down. Finally, an announcement had to be made for the kids to stop staring at the ex couple. As they both sulked out of the cafeteria, and started on their paths to go their separate ways, Emmalie had a sudden burst of courage. She screamed across the hallway, loud enough that Malia --who already made it half way to her class-- could hear her. She said that the last seven months have been the happiest she has ever been. No matter what Malia's father said, Emmalie still wanted to be with Malia. There was no point in dating anyone else, if Malia was the one Emmalie wanted. Emmalie ran to Malia, who started to cry again. She kissed Malia and told her that she wasn't going anywhere. There was no point in trying to make her, because it would never happen. That night, Malia called Emmalie to tell her that she told her dad that they were not going to break up and that he would have to deal with the fact that she was happy just the way she was. Her dad didn't argue with her, he just said that he supported her decision. As it is currently 2018, they have been together for two and a half years. However, they are still experiencing the sexual discrimination. They put it behind them, because love has no limits.
