I lay back on Claire's bed, reflecting on how I got here. It's hard to believe I was once the nymph of the underworld. My name was Minthe, though now I'm known as Y/N. I was a water nymph and well, I caught the eye of Hades. No big deal... just the god of the underworld. However we soon lost our power in the world with the human population rising. Our mythology lived in harmony with all the others until Heaven and Hell took over. Nobody believed or cared about us anymore. We never met the God who created all, even us. But we met his angels. They all allowed us to live but our lives weren't the same. I was a lonely drifter for centuries, that was until I discovered an entire line of people known as hunters. I didn't know any and I certainly didn't hunt, but I studied them. The enthralled me because I know their reality. And anyone who knows their reality is either terrified of them or amazed, I chose the latter. Then I met my first hunter, by accident. Her name was Claire Novak.

I have no real problems with demons. I mean, I'm a nymph, and I still have powers. They choose to leave me alone. But one day I ran into Claire fighting a few. She exorcised them, all while yelling a me, who she thought was a normal person, to run. I just sat, quietly and watched. I'd help if she needed and I did a few times holding them off until she could take care of them all. I still remember Claire's first words to me.
"You got a death wish or something?" She said out of breathe and I just smiled. We talked and I told her about me. You know, the basics at first. I'm usually pretty wary of hunters, but I knew Claire was different. I knew she wouldn't hurt me. I've never truly hurt anyone. I don't necessarily hunt with Claire but I help her. I kinda just research and do the quiet stuff. I've been friends with Claire, moving around with her for about a year now. Claire is the only real friend I've had in centuries.

Right now I'm laying on her Motel bed as she packs up her stuff. There's a couple of hunters she wants to meet up with, they're the Winchesters. You don't have to be a full blown hunter to know about the Winchesters, I'm not. They are hunting legends, better than even their parents, John Winchester and Mary Campbell. I'm not too keen on meeting them though. I can't be sure any guys like that won't want to kill me. But I'll go... for Claire. I'll just do my best to avoid meeting these hunters.

A/N: Hey y'all. I like to pick a song to go along with all my books. The song for this book is I Want to Know What Love Is by Foreigner.
