TEN YEARS LATER

January

"I love you, Rocky." He chuckled, licking his lips. I rolled my eyes. "I love your crazy ass too, Treasure."

Treasure Pierce

"Tell your dad bye sweetie," I spoke to my ten year old daughter, Kelcie. Her ponytails flew in the wind as she walked back towards the porch of our home and kissed her sick father on the cheek. Kelcie Deniese. My heart. She was the best thing that ever happened to me ten years ago. Born at six pounds ten ounces, when she came into the world she made me a mother and a better person.

I watched her with a smile on my face and I watched as she walked back. "Daddy said come here, mom."

"Okay, baby," I said. "Get in the car and I'll be right back." She did just that stepping foot into my Range Rover as I walked over to her father. I glared at him. "What?"

He smacked his mouth. "So I see you still mad at me, huh?"

"Damn right I am," I spoke. "I told you to put on a jacket and look at you, walking around with the flu. I told you to eat your soup so why are you out here anyway?"

He pulled me closer to him and I avoided his gaze as he nuzzled my neck. I tried to hide my smile. "Stop Rocky."

He shook his head. "You still mad?"

I lied. "No."

He stopped kissing my neck and kissed my foreahead. "Well alright then. Where you headed too after you drop her off at school?"

I shook my head. "I have to go stop by my shop downtown," I spoke talking of my first shop that I bought when I was twenty two years old. He nodded. "A'right. I'll let you. Kiss?"

"Really. You're sick babe?"

He gave me a look and I poured. "Fine," I kissed his lips. "I'll see you later okay?"

"A'right. Fine ass. I'll be here, Treasure."

I smiled, glancing down at my outfit before looking back at him. I winked.
