Scattered papers, teared into pieces were found in the room. Sitting there in a corner was Diana, hugging her knees.
She felt exhausted and frustrated. Possibly all the negative feelings at the moment. She wanted to write a new book since she was gaining fame for her previous work.
Being a fanfiction writer for Diana means the world to her. She was able to express her feelings through words. She is also very grateful to her readers, they were the reason why she rose to popularity. She wanted to give back to them by giving them more content aside from the chapters she uploads.
She wanted to step up her game by not only writing about romance, but also applying different elements like supernatural powers and current events. But nothing comes to her mind when she tries to think of a plot.
She sighs and starts to pick up all the pieces of paper scattered while holding the trash bin.
"Hi Dee," Carly chimes in as she opens the door. "Oh my gosh, what happened to your room?" Her eyes widen as she scans the room.
Carly is her friend and roommate. Despite being a couple years older, they're very close. They met in a cafe where all seats were occupied except for hers. As Diana graduated high school, she needed a place close to her university. Fortunately, Carly needed to share the rent of her apartment. That's how they bonded and grew closer.
"Writing happened," Diana sighs. "I can't think of a plot for my new book. I have to start writing one before I wrap up Lost in Time, so it can be promoted a bit."
"You should take your time, besides, how many chapters are left before you end?" Carly asks as she helps her friend pick up the pieces of trash.
"About five or six chapters including the epilogue." Diana answers. The more she pondered on how the whole story was made, the more she thought how cliche it turned out. She did not like cliche even though it was very sweet. She wants to show uniqueness within her characters and the whole story, a reason why her story was chosen to be read out of the millions on the platform she publishes on.
Her best friend smiles as she pats Diana's shoulder. "See? You still have a lot of time. Don't pressure yourself. Your hobby shouldn't stress you."
Diana knew that her best friend was right. She was more stressed over this than her school work.
Carly's phone started to ring, she smiles. "I'm going to my room. Liam's calling. You seriously need to take a break, Dee."
Her roommate leaves the room, and Diana gets the last piece of paper. She places the bin down and plops down to her bed. She pulls out her phone and plays music to calm herself down.
Diana, let me be the one to light a fire inside those eyes. You've been lonely, you don't even know me, but I can feel you crying.
A tear falls down her face. She thought of the reason why, but she doesn't know. Since her name was said in the song, she feels touched. She also had a thought if someone actually wrote it for her, but she doesn't know anyone who would do that for her.
