There She Goes

A/N: So this is my first Fanfic and since I'm a huge Falling Skies fan, I thought I'd write about it. There is an OC and I'm worried as to how people will react to that, however, this idea had played in my head and it didn't seem fitting to make it about a character already in the show. It was going to be Lourdes, but I thought better not. Any way, this is the first chapter and hopefully you enjoy, with more to come. The story is vague to start with but with progression of chapters, everything will be put into perspective.

Enough babbling and on with the story.

*Ben's POV*

Ben woke up from his terrible nightmare, hoping that the day would improve along with his mood. He got out of bed and threw on his typical garb of jeans, a black T-shirt and combat boots and the finishing touch with his fingerless gloves. Off to another day of fighting the aliens.

*Flashback*

Tami is running towards me, anger etched on her face instead of her usual, walled up self. She doesn't have tears in her eyes but Ben can see she's hurting.

An hour prior to coming face to face with an angry Tami, Maggie had kissed him. Ben wondered hopelessly if Tami somehow had found out.

She had. The pain they both felt was unbearable due to their harness connection, but she pierced him with harmful words all the same.

Ben had never seen her so angry. He no longer could see her as someone or something knocked him out

*End flashback*

As Ben replayed the previous nights events in his head over and over, he realised that what he thought was a nightmare had actually happened and he had lost the most important person in his life right now.

And he would never forgive himself.

*Tami's POV*

Ben hurt me, there's no denying. After everything we have been through, he did that? If Jimmy was here, he would never let Ben get away with it and, normally, neither would I but somehow when I go near him, the pain is unbelievable.

My harness glows when he's near and then it hurts like hell! How does that happen? I don't suppose any one would know except the monsters who branded me as one of their own when they put it on me that night. 

I find ways of avoiding him, no bother. I know that he is out looking for me but I let him search. He deserves it. It seems to only be me that gets this excruciating pain in my harness when we are in close proximity of each other. What's up with that?

"Tami? You and Ben are going to search the underground tunnels for members we have not found yet since the explosion", Captain Weaver tells me. "Find Ben and get to work. 5 hours max and if you're not back, we'll assume the worst."

Words of confidence. Thanks Captain. However, I guess I have to go on this dreaded mission with Ben so I don't let the Mass down. Wish me luck, I'll need it.
