Rekindling The Flame
Chapter 1: The Meeting
In the 2040s there was a child prodigy born in New Orleans, Louisiana by the name of Louis Emile Boudreaux. Louis was White skinned with a tan that most southerners had, Ash Black hair, and Blue Eyes that were claimed by his parents to have been passed down by his great-grandfather who passed away before he was born. Louis grew up in a family of Baptists who encouraged both his Christian Beliefs as well as his Scientiffic Research. One day, the child grew an interest in thermodynamics when most children didn't know what a thermometer was. He studied and studied until he graduated MIT with a Master's Degree in Chemistry and Engineering, but then tragedy struck... The Omnic Crisis.
Louis decided that he would help preserve his culture and religion by joining the Worldwide Organization Overwatch. He was gladly accepted as one of Overwatch's lead scientists and weapons engineers, in Said organization he made friends with legendary heroes like Captain Jack Morrison, General Reinhardt Wilhelm, Ana Amari, & Mako Rutledge. Louis was also placed in the heat of battle with a robotic suit that had attachable flamethrowers, flares, and grenades as he fought the Omnics that revolted after they were sought to be replaced with newer models. However, in one particular battle he was knocked out by a stray piece of gravel hitting his head, he then woke up inside a medical ward with a splitting headache, Mercy, the lead physician, said he should just stick to his scientist role for a while.
After a week's rest, Louis went back to his scientific duties, where he developed a Bottle Formula version of the medication released from Mercy's Staff which he gave to the formula to Ana and Mako. Louis then proceeded to work with upgrading his weapon until he heard a pair of people bickering, Louis walked over and saw something very surprising in Overwatch. He saw one of Overwatch's assassins, Genji Shimada, arguing with a Chinese woman wearing a blue tank top and black sweatpants, Genji yells at her saying she shouldn't be joining Overwatch. The two argue while Louis was looking at the bickering couple through the corner, he heard Genji scoff and call the woman fat and proceeded to hear a loud smack and what Louis assumed was Chinese Swearing and the phrase for You're Dumped!
The woman walked around the corner and bumped into Louis, which she reacted by panicking and frantically apologizing but she also got slightly embarassed when she figured out Louis heard the argument. Louis shrugged and told Mei he was listening to the conversation since he was working on his own weapon and needed a break. Mei then nodded understandingly and asked for directions to find as she pronounced, "Low-is Boo-Dreax", Louis then chuckled and told her it was "Louis Boudreaux," who she was talking to. Mei flustered and she then panicked again apologizing and they got to asking about joining Overwatch as Louis was looking over her degree record and decided she was more than qualified.
Chapter 2: The Relationship Blossoms
It had been a few months since Mei had Joined Overwatch and Louis couldn't have been more thankful to have a new Scientist on Board, Mei had help improve Overwatch's tech by repairing a glitch that was hacked into ATHENA, Overwatch's AI weeks ago. Later, you had learned that Mei was one of Genji's exes back when he was what people referred to as a ,"PLAYA", Louis never really understood Slang outside of Southern Slang, but Mei had forgiven Genji since he was only concerned for her safety and according to Mei, "He has really changed". But Louis found something wrong, Louis had found that Mei found herself another boyfriend from her home land China, he had come into the headquarters several times but something about him made Louis nervous. After Mei had met him, she had been doing less work and was more nervous around how people interacted her, one key example was that her best female-friend Mercy would commonly pat her on the back after she was examined in a weekly checkup but she'd flinch now. One day Louis decided to drop off paperwork for Mei when she was sick from as she put it, "Bed Sickness", but when Louis went to her room he heard crying, Louis opened the door to see Mei crying her eyes out with her phone vibrating on her night-table.
