Chapter 1
"Would someone like to tell me why we had to sneak into the school early this morning?" My friend Wilson Kriss asked with a yawn. School wouldn't begin for another twenty minutes. Wilson, Dusty Lane, and I were the only people in the hallway.
" To see the future of in-school transportation," Dusty announced. He pulled a blue plastic chair with metal legs out of a classroom. We Were standing at the end of a long empty hall. During the night Sam the custodian must have polished the floor because the tiles glistened.
"I hate to tell you this," I said "but chairs are for sitting, not moving."
"Behold." Dusty pressed a button on his wristwatch. Than he started to run down the shiny hallway pushing the chair in front of him. About a third of the way down the hall, he jumped into the chair. The next thin Wilson and I knew, Dusty was sitting in the chair holding tight as he sailed over the polished tiles.
