My Place

I have a place where I go when things are wrong.

the sun shines through the trees,

and it sparkles on the rain drops.

The leaves dance on the trees and

on a hilltop a little girl sits,

throwing white rose petals into the wind.

Over the rush of the lovely music,

you can just hear her whispering,

"He loves me, he loves me not..."

I have a place where I go when things are wrong.

No one has a worry,

not even the little bitty bugs.

The wind blows so soft,

like little feathers touching your face.

The stars twinkle,

as if they were dancing together.

I have a place where I go when things are wrong.

When it rains, everyone sits and tells stories,

while younger kids dance in the puddles.

And a grandfather clock sits in the corner

of and old farm house

and starts to chime

and it reminds me the reasons

why I love this place so much.

I have a place where I go when things are wrong.

You can look through a window and see

a mom rocking a little girl in a cradle

and you can hear her singing as she

drifts into sleep

And has sweet dreams that she wouldn't have had

if her mother had not been there

in the first place.

I have a place where I go when things are wrong.

There is a swimming hole where the bigger kids go,

and jump in the water off of

trees where they had hung a rope

off and knotted the end

so they could swing and land

Into the water,

and you can hear the splashes a mile away.

I have a place where I go when things are wrong.
