Chapter 23

I walked up the stairs of the school looking at my phone. I was waiting for the most important phone call of my family's happiness.

"Hey watch were your going." some boy said as I bumped into him.

"Sorry." I mumbled walking to my first class of the day.

"Miss. Jones your late would you like to explain why." my history teacher asked.

"Family emergencies." I said walking to my chair.

"Oh really is it that or were you making out with your boy friend." she said pointing to Matthews empty desk.

"No I have no clue why he isn't here and it's true!" I shouted.

"Young lady principal now!" I groaned and walked to the principals office.

"Miss what's going on?" Mrs. Kassady asked.

"Well my father was walking when he slipped and hit his head. He is in a coma and the doctors said he would be up today. I was at home and over slept because I was up all night worried to death." I explained and she nodded. She moved her hand as if I was a fly. I got up and went back to the stupid class.

I was at lunch staring at my phone waiting for that text or phone call from my sister. Did she have to go to school? No because she is the favorite of my whole family. But that didn't matter right now what mattered was my dad and if he was okay.

"Hey staring at your phone isn't good for your eyes." Matthew said tapping my shoulder.

"Hey." I smiled and he sat down next to me.

"What's wrong pretty?" he asked putting his arm around my shoulders.

"Family emergency." I said putting my phone down.

"Look I'm sorry Matt. I know I should have texted you-" he cut me off.

"Don't worry about it."

"Hey why weren't you in history or any other classes?"

"I over slept and just came in late." I nodded and heard my phone go off. I grabbed it and sighed when it was just a text from Britney.

"Hey don't worry I'm sure what ever is going in is going to be okay." I looked up and he smiled. I did the same and just continued to look at my phone.
