IVORY P.O.V
GAME DAY.
"Ladies it's almost that time, get ready" Ms. Million said as she rushed through the crowd of people back stage. It was time. My first BOTB, and our last home game.
I peeped out the door way to see thousands of people waiting for us to come show out. I ran back inside, and seen Lovey standing there with flowers.
"Hey RiRi, I just wanted to say good luck." she said as she handed me the bouquet of Roses.
"Aw, thank you so much Love. I love you mane" I said as I hugged her.
"I love you more mane" she said as he walked back out from the back stage.
Lovey and I have gotten close over the four months I've been in college. I probably talk to her more than I talk to Giselle, and because she's Taheeds best friend, I'm always with her. I appreciate her kindness so much, and even if her and Giselle are broken up right now, she was still one of my best friends.
Our coaches gathered all majorettes, and we said a group prayer. In less than five minutes, it would be time to get out on the field and show the people what we worked so hard for.
We got in our stand off line, and waited.
Once the music started playing, we all strolled out, and waited in our course on the field.
My heart was pouncing out of my chest, and I began to get butterflies in my stomach. When the marching band started to play the beat to "heavy hittaz" I knew it was no backing out now.
Loren was Ace and Head Captain so she choreographed first as the music began to play. We went after her, and performed a nontraditional routine. Then we waited for the competing team to do their routine. They were good, but we worked hard for this and we deserved the title of BOTB 2015 Champions.
Our performance ended with each one of us bowing down the course. Votes were placed during half time, and the winning squad had to go back out once they announced the winner.
My heart pounded as I waited.
They announced that the Georgia State Majorettes would take home the winning title after seven years. We all jumped up screaming, and waving to the crowd. I know my sisters are out there watching me. I was walking back stage and my smile faded when I seen Loren walking my way.
She walked up to me and said "Nice job out there today Ivory." As she smirked.
I walked past her without thanking her. I was so over this damn dramatic girl, and her hate towards me. I don't need or want drama with anyone, when my life is going so good right now.
Avory called me asking where I was, and she told me that there was a surprise. I was walking through the crowd, trying to get to my family when Taheed came up to me.
"I was just about to go lookin' for you. You did your thing out there shawty, I'm proud of you" he said as he hugged me and handed me another bouquet of Roses.
"Thank you so much Taheed, but I'm meeting my sisters so I have to go" I said apologetically.
Then he did exactly what I didn't want him to do. He said "Oh well Ima just come with you then."
I looked at him hesitantly. How is he gonna just invite himself to meet my sisters? I felt like it wasn't the right time to meet them, but I know it was no telling him no.
I sighed, and said "Okay whatever, let's just go."
I grabbed his hand and I rushed through the crowd with him following behind me.
