Emma walked into the supermarket with her groceries list written down in her mind through memory. She grabbed her cart and began walking. Before she could fully make it to any section, she was stopped by Mark, a worker and a peer from school.
"Hey Emma, how's things going?" He said. "Aw shit wrong thing to say. You know after all I already know your pretty messed up and all after you know what happened."
Emma's hands gripped the bar on the cart so hard that her knuckles were turning white. She looked the other way to settle down her anger. She was use to these things. Everyone in town didn't know how to act around people who lost someone. She should know because she was one of those people in the past.
"Mark." Emma said slowly and thoughtful, something most people didn't expect from her since she lost her sister. "It's okay you don't have to get all worry about saying the wrong thing around me. I'm not going to have a mental break down over it." She smiled at him reassuringly.
"Yea, well I'm sorry. Just call me if you need any help." Mark said and turned to leave.
Before Emma could take another step, Mark turned again and Emma sighed angrily. She just wanted to get grocery shopping over with.
"I mean if you need help with anything." He wiggled his eyebrows. "You know I'm still here if you ever want to put out." Now he wiggled his tongue.
"Uck." Emma sighed as she began to walk away from him towards the meat section. "I don't know what I ever saw in him." She thought to herself about her ex-boyfriend, who broke up with her when she wouldn't have sex with him. "Obviously I was blind. But it's the past and I'm glad I broke up with him while I had the chance." She continued to think to herself as she shopped.

Adam walked into the supermarket and grabbed a cart as if he was really there to shop. There was a guy around his age at the cashier. The guy gave him a weird stare. However, Adam was use to it since he was the new kid in town
Adam gave him a quick short smile then got onto his way. Pretending to be looking at the choices of the different kinds of foods. He would absentmindedly drop little stuff in his cart to make it seem like he was actually there to shop. And to most importantly make it less suspicious when he got his fix of alcohol for the day.
When Adam reached his destination at the section of shells filled with rows of alcohol, it was like he reached heaven. The alcohol talked to him as if they were a god and that he needed them to get rid of the pain.
But how right they were, for he needed the alcohol to overcome his inner demons. Demons that would make the pain of him losing his brother come out.
Adam closed his eyes so the thoughts of his brother dying wouldn't cloud his head. He squeezed his pocket, where lied the note his brother left him before he died.
When all thoughts were gone he let go of his pocket and opened his eyes. He looked left and right to see if anyone was in viewing, then up to make sure there were no cameras. After everything was clear, Adam grabbed two bottles of Vodka and slipped it under his shirt. He proceed walking as if he did not just commit a crime.
As he walked to the cashier he noticed a girl, but didn't put much thinking to her. He continued on except for when he had to fix his bottles under his shirt.

As Emma remained in her thoughts and placing the food into her, she wasn't aware of her surroundings. Until she bumped into something then heard a clash of glass.
Emma quickly got out of her thoughts as she heard a "Shit!"
She looked up to see a guy looking at the ground. Her eyes also went to the ground to see the damage. There was glass all over the floor from a broken bottle or two.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry." Emma exclaimed as she walked towards him. "I-I-I didn't see you. I'm sorry." She stuttered. When Emma stuttered it meant she was nervous and she did have a reason to be nervous. The guy who stood in front her was huge for his age.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Was all Adam could say as he thought about the amount of trouble he was going to be in. He wasn't even paying attention to what the girl in front of him was saying. All he could think of was how he was going to get out of this situation with out getting in trouble because he didn't need to give his mother anything else to worry about.
"I'll pay you for the damage here so you won't have to pay for it."
Adams looked up as he heard these words. He looked her over and noticed her wildly, dirty blonde, curly hair was all over the place and her green eyes seemed to had have life in them before but was now covered with death and made her seem older. However, he could tell she was young probably a year or two younger then him. "Um. How old are you to be able to pay for these bottles?" Adam asked curtly.
Emma closed her mouth quickly and her pale cheeks turned red. "I-ah um." She paused before she could start stuttering. "I'm only 17." Emma said lowly. "But I can give you the money to pay for it." She looked up at him shyly.
He let out a short laugh. "I'm not old enough to pay for it either." Adam looked over her head because he didn't like having contact with anyone, especially her since it was doing weird stuff in him.
As he looked ahead he could see the cashier coming over. "Shit. Another problem ahead."
Emma turned her head to see Mark coming their way. She turned back to look at the boy in front of her. She looked at him carefully, then let out a sigh.
With his brownish hair pushed back from a hand and his green eyes against his tan skin, she knew he had a story. A sad one at that too. Even if he was huge and looked like he could knock someone out with one punch.
"Em. Is everything alright here?" Mark asked as he came behind her, believing that he would get into a fight if he had to.
"Ah. Yes." Emma replied. "We just had a little incident. She smiled at Mark.
Mark could tell there was something fishy going on so he walked around Emma and saw the glasses of bottles broken on the floor. He looked up at Adam. "I'm going to need to see id please." Mark try to say authoritatively.
Adam swallowed hard and went to go answer. "I don-"
"It wasn't his Mark." Emma started out lowly and both guys looked at her. "It was mine."
Mark looked at her as if she just grown an extra head. Adam looked at her speechless. He couldn't believe she was doing this for him.
"But why?" Was all Mark could say.
"You know. I've been feeling a bit depress lately. And today is Emily's anniversary." She said looking down at the ground blushing.
Adam remained quiet as the other boy believed the story.
"Shit. I forgot. I'm sorry Em. I keep bringing it up." He looked at her then grabbed her by the shoulder. "I won't tell anyone about this. As long as you don't continue to you know." Mark did a drinking motion with his hand.
Adam gripped his hand together tightly. 'How dare he talk to her like that?' He thought to himself.
"Okay. I promise." Emma said widening her eyes to make him even more gullible.
Mark nodded than gave Adam a once over again. He squeezed Emma's shoulder then turned to return to his cash register.
When he was gone Adam scratched the back of his head. "Um. Thanks."
"Yea. No prob." Emma said curtly. She wanted to get this over with she hated lying. And bringing her sister's name to it made it even more painful.
Adam looked at her. He opened his mouth to say more, but then closed it when he saw that she was over the topic and back to her grocery shopping.
He sighed and began to walk away. His fake groceries and alcohol all but forgotten.
