She was breathing heavily with the most pale and ghastly look on her face as she was pressed up against my chest. I wanted to comfort her and be cordial but that was by far the least of my concerns at that moment.

Right then, we heard foot steps coming from the door way of this abandoned building and gun shots fired. She whimpered faintly, "Dad! They killed my dad!"

I tried to reassure her that everything would be alright as long as she's with me. I whispered slightly louder now, "Trust me and stick by my side! I can solve this problem."

Can I really though?

"That's just it Marcus," she replied.

"Sticking with you made this happen to all of us! We should have never met" Her eyes were icy cold making me let go of her realizing all the pain I had bestowed onto her... I truly loved her so dearly. I didn't want to let her out of my sight. I should've protected my angel more... better yet, never crossed paths with her...
