CHAPTER TWO

"No...."

Tanging masasabi ko nalang.

Eh ano ba! Takot ako eh! Can't blame me. I know it stings.

"Oh yesh derlsh eleng menuto neleng gegende ke ne." wika ni Darls in a distinct voice dahil sa takot na ma-crack yung nakalagay na face mask sa mukha nya.

"Is it really nescessary? I mean. There's nothing wrong with my eyebrows." sita ko sabay check.

I mean, My eyebrows are already good. Kaso makalat. Ewan ko kasi sa mga 'on fleek' chuchu na yan. I mean it's not necessary to have fleeking eyebrows or whatever that is. Diba? Ugh.

"Basta chill ka lang jan. It's not that bad. I promise." Darls said while her mask is slowly being removed.

Di ko nalang sya pinansin.

Lumapit na sa'kin si Randy and asked me if I'm already ready. Syempre sabi ko No! Yun naman kasi ang totoo eh. No effin' way.

"You need to be ready na Miss Williams. I assure you, Masasanay ka rin sa kalaunan." Sabi nya sabay ready sa tools na gagamitin nya.

"Randy's right Darls. You'll get used to it again like you used to." sabi nya sabay pigil ng tawa.

The truth is, I've never been used to getting my eyebrows plucked or threaded. My pain tolerance is low and it's literally the worse thing ever! I don't know if other people are really used to it or tinitiis lang nila yung sakit.

Damn the things we do for beauty!

"Sure yan ha. Libre mo 'ko icecream afterwards. 1 galloon gusto ko. Dapat akin la- SHIT!"
I screamed in horror.

And my nightmare begun..

"Darls?"

"Don't look at me! I swear I'll kill you!" Sabi ko sabay takip sa mukha.

"What? It's normal. Lemme look at you. Promise I won't laugh."

here it goes...

"OH MY GOSH! You look amazing!" Sabi nya with her oh so dramatic tone again.

"Do I? I mean look! My eyebrow area is burning red Darls! How the heck am I gonna get rid of this? You know I have low pain tolerance!" I said while looking closely in the mirror.

"Oh please. It's not like you're gonna die right? You've been here before! And besides. Mawawala rin yan in a few minutes. Malayo yan sa bituka Darls." Sabay whisper effect sa last line tsaka irap.

"She's right Madmoiselle. Mawawala rin yan. We can put cold compress if you want. I assure you. Okay? Konting ayos nalang. You'll be purrrfect." sabi ni Randy.

"Ang unfair Darls! It's your first make-over in a while pero walang iniba sayo kundi kilay lang!" Darls whined.

"Maalaga kasi ako Darls. I love hundred billion-step skincare routine. Trust me, it's worth it." I winked at her with ngisi na nang-aasar.

She just whined. Haha I really love teasing her. Maalaga rin naman si Darls. She's only messy in a sense that her room is full of shopping bags.

To be honest. I am really looking forward to the result. I mean di ko naman talaga madedeny na naeexcite ako ng konti. It's just that, I've made up my mind. It's not just because of that jerk that I myself would want to have a make-over or transform back. I just wanted to have a brand new start. Without the dark past.

Di ko na rin kaya matanggap na ang Bee ng school ay isang... weakling.

While waiting for Randy, Nagpatugtog nalang ako. I took my iPad out and I shuffled my Ariana Grande playlist. Avid fan.

"Darls, Are you into these stuffs?" Sabi ko habang nagbubuklat ng magazine.

"Stuffs like what?" Sabi nya habang tinatanggal ang mask.

"Lingeries, sexy costumes, and whatever. I mean, Aren't these too much perhaps?"

Like, I can't imagine myself wearing these kinds of stuffs.

"I love bikinis and slit dresses, but I don't do thin and shear-lacy lingeries. I mean I wear some of it but not the super steamy ones. Medyo sobra na kasi. I mean wala namang silbi." sabi nya sabay ngiwi.

"You're totally right Darls. Eh bat napangiwi ka?" Nagtatakang tanong ko.

"Nothing. I just remembered how my stepmom went to the kitchen at midnight. She walked out wearing nothing but those shear lingeries. She didn't know I was still on our sofa. I mean I already knew what she and my dad were up to. Meh." Sabi nya sabay shrug and turned to face the mirror.

"Oh my gosh that's embarrassing!" I bursted into laughter

I also noticed some of the chismosa workers chuckled. I mean who wouldn't? Parang wala lang kasi kay Darls na sabihin yun.

"I'm back my lovely customers!" Sabi ni Randy sabay taas sa bags and twirled.

Mas feminine pa sa'kin 'to eh.

"Okay everyone. Faster faster! We wouldn't want them waiting. Do we? Let's continue our magic! Faster!" Sabi ni Randy sabay palakpak na nagpataranta sa workers.

"Ready for the last part Darls?" Sabi ni Darls.

I inhaled and exhaled deeply. Well, This is it.

"Ready."
