It's been almost an hour since we've been in this tunnel and we could still hear the sirens. They still sounded loudly in our ears, echoing off the walls of the tunnel and  ricocheting straight off.

I stared at the mud, my eyes adjusting to the dark already as I stared at Jackson's feet walk through in visible effort. For some reason, the mud started to shine, and I could see it shaking.

My eyebrows furrowed together as I looked up. I looked behind me to see Kat and Christopher already whispering and laughing with each other as Karan and Liana were silent.

Liana looked at me, mouthing something but it wasn't her I was looking at. My eyes widened, my heart dropping.

"Run!" I jumped off Jackson's shoulders, running for myself. They sent a freaking train down here! I was going to slow Jackson down, I was better off without me on his shoulders and so was he.

Liana and Kat knew what I meant and did he same thing running with me, "Where the hell are you idiots going?" Jackson screamed.

We didn't even have to answer his idiotic question. Karan was already in step behind us as he screamed a simple word that had us all running out of our minds. No metaphor intended, "TRAIN!"

Adrenaline pumped into my blood, my feet going so fast in the mud that I couldn't even tell if I was alive or not, cold wind blew against my face, stinging my eyes but I didn't care.

I would see my life flash before my eyes, and that light they talk about. That lights was most likely going to be the one of the train. The tracks below the mud tumbled and that gave me an idea.

I slowed down to a complete stop before grabbing the rails, "lift them up! It'll throw the train off!" I screamed, the sound of he train drowning me out. Kat heard me as she went under the mud, her fingers wrapping around the rail as we pulled as hard as we could.

More hands joined, lifting the rail up until it was over my head. These were old and rusty, why'd they send the train in the first place?

The mud got shallower the further we ran, allowing us to get faster. My eyes caught sight of the end of the tunnel, the train getting louder.

After a few seconds, a loud bang rang across or ears. It was so loud, I couldn't hear anything besides a screeching sound and a faint sound of tumbling metal. I felt my legs shake under my weight like the world was on my shoulders.

I can't die like this. I wanted to live my life. I want to start my own family. I looked up to God, praying that he'd let me live and have a happy life.

I promise I'll change. I fell to my knees, my hands still pulling me forwards. My eyes dropped as I saw Jackson and Christopher's boots pass me.

I slipped into a dream of darkness. And just like that darkness, I felt empty.

Words spiraled in my head but I couldn't make sense of them. It was like trying to read without your glasses but couldn't make out what the words were.

My eyes slowly opened, my head rolling to my sides as Karan blinked down at me. His lips moved up and down. Was he talking to me?

Slowly, his voice became clear, "Are you alright? Marie?" His brows were furrowed, worry shining bright behind his dark eyes. I slowly got up, my eyes blinking. Everyone stared down at me. We all were covered in mud and we were on a cliff, overlooking the city.

I could see the tunnel from here and the police lights, flashing in an aura of red and blue. After all that happened, there was only question I had.

"Are you <CENSORED> insane?!" I asked, my voice rising in an octave. Nobody said anything. I stared at Jackson, just his face was making my nerves explode.

"What did I do?"

"What great idea made you want to walk through a <CENSORED> tunnel?! It's obviously <CENSORED> up! America is <CENSORED> up! We're all <CENSORED> up!" I threw my hands into the air, my patience was worn thin. I haven't cussed in so long that it actually felt good to let it all out.

"I'm f-Ed up," Jackson started, scoffing. I stopped as everyone continued to look at us, "my sister is dead! You were going to drag her body to the grave and run away like cowards! That was my sister! She's the one I ate cereal with every morning! The one that would come crying to me about guys and we'd sit in the couch and watch her little chick flicks until 1 in the morning!" He pointed to Kacy's body, venom spitting from his voice.

"I'm never gonna get the chance to do that again!"

"What about the body you had?! You were gonna do the same thing!"

"He was an orphan!"

"That makes it any better?!" My face was seeding hot and I felt like a volcano. My top has exploded and it felt hot.

Everyone was silent, even the sirens were silent. The city went to sleep.

Hot silent tears spilled from both of our eyes. We screamed at each other and now we had nothing to say, like two children caught stealing lollipops from Walmart. There was no way I was gonna be the weak one here.

I felt angry and irritated and furious, "Go ahead. Turn me in. I won't say anything. But if you follow me, I'm going to rip your reputation to shreds." I stormed off, my teeth grinding to hold back my angry tears.
