Hey guys! I haven't edited this chapter yet, so if something doesn't make sense, comment and I'll fix it! I hope you enjoy it! If you have any ideas, let me know! I am open to aything!! Ejoy!!! :D
"Faye! Get your lazy ass out of bed! This is why I wanted you home early last night." I groaned and rolled over before sitting up in my bed. I looked over at my alarm clock next to my bed and saw that it was already 5:30
and we had to leave at 6.
"Why didn't you get me up earlier?"
"So that I wouldn't have to deal with your attitude for any longer than possible," my mom yelled up the stairs.
"Fine! I'll be down in 10 minutes." I quickly jumped out of bed and took a three-minute shower. I pulled on my sweatpants and sweatshirt along with my comfy Sperry slippers. I did not want to be stuck in a car for five hours in my riding clothes, that was not gonna happen. I grabbed my already packed luggage and began to lug it down the stairs.
I was almost to the garage by the time my mom appeared from her bedroom. I give her a bored look, "Thanks for the help."
"You wouldn't have had to rush if you didn't go to the party last night."
"Thank you Captain Obvious..."
She flashed her famous smile, "I live to please you my dear."
It was too early for humor so I simply glared at her and stalked away to go put my luggage in the car. I popped open the trunk and flung the luggage into the back; next to my mom's stuff which she had already loaded into her white Porsche Cayenne. I pushed the small button on the bottom of the door which made the trunk slowly descend and close.
I trudged up the stairs into the house and called out for my mom. "Hey, are you ready to head out? I want to get there at a reasonable time so that I can still school the boys. Plus it is already 6:05."
"I'm coming Faye, be patient child."
I rolled my eyes at her even though she couldn't see me. "Fine mother. I'll be waiting in the car so hurry up." I push the button on the wall in the garage and the large wooden garage door started to slowly lift off the ground. I opened the door and hopped in; getting myself comfortable for the five hour drive down to Kentucky. I closed my eyes for a second and most have dozed off because the click of the driver's door startled me awake and I jumped out of my seat a little.
My mom looked over at me and started laughing, "No need to freak out, its just me."
I shot her a glare before joining her laughter. I've gotta admit that I'm not always the brightest person out there. "Thanks... Let's just get this show on the road."
She smirked at me as she put her car in reverse and backed out of the large six car garage that only contained two cars at the moment. In a matter of seconds we were cruising down I-75 and on our way to Derby finals.
"I'm gonna take a nap. Wake me up when we are almost there, ok?" I questioned my mom as I put my earbuds in and turned on my music.
"No problem. I don't want you falling asleep while riding." I shook my head at her. I loved my mom but sometimes I worried about the state of her mind. Hunter Hayes' Secret Love played through my earbuds and I smiled as I quickly fell into a sound sleep.

The sensation of my left earbud leaving my ear was enough to pull me out of my nap. I peered over at my mom out of the corners of my eyes. "Is there something I can do for you?" I quickly paused my music and turned in my seat so that I was facing her.
