It had been hours since Killer had left. Or it felt that way to [Name]. Idly sitting in her armchair, or lazing on the bed, [Name] had tried to pass the time, as well as giving out gentle hisses of pain. Yup, no miracles had happened, she was still one huge sack of throbbing aches and sharp pains.
She still hadn't eaten, too, for she hadn't felt hungry, and she still couldn't bring herself to go look at the damage in the mirror. Like heck was she about to marvel at the black eye, and anyway, it would only add to her deflating confidence. [Name] didn't feel cut out for the world right in that moment, and she certainly hadn't any effort to deal with whatever shit Killer was going to bring into the room. She had previously, but the excitement of meeting another underworld slob had quickly died from her veins, and her head had given her a damn good scolding.
You couldn't even deal with one, and the other you've acquired is only being tolerant of you because he made a deal that orders him to do so. He could literally leave your tushy in a ditch for a couple of hours after another beating, come back and save you, and claim that he was protecting you. There's no doubt, at all, that he's going to pervert the rules a little to cause you as much shit as he can. He's a literal demon. Demons are not friends. Demons are not kind. Or merciful. Or truthful. Or anything good. And you've oPENLY INVITED ANOTH-
She needed to get out of her own head, because, damn, self-scolding was worse than when her brother told her off. Shaking away the thoughts as best she could, [Name] rose from the bed and shuffled around a little. As she did so, muffled voices sounded at the door, causing her to perk up and hold her breath. Not one of them sounded like Killer, and the lack of recognition disheartened her.
As weird as it was to her, she was already starting to miss the guy.
"What's taking him so long?" She asked herself, hands coming to rest on her hips. In doing that, her stomach finally let out the best whale impression, gurgling away until she cringed, "oh god..."
She supposed she'd only brought the sickly feeling upon herself - it must have been, what? A day? Since she had last eaten, and goodness, her stomach was not happy with her. Even if she didn't feel like it, her body needed to eat and recover.
So, over to the menu she went, plucking it from the corner desk and gracing over the lists. There was a list for alcohol, ha ha nope- breakfast, lunch- light snacks might be better for her; nothing too heavy, but tolerable. Maybe a sandwich would do? Yeah, that would do. She could deal with that.
Picking up the phone from the receiver, [Name] pressed in the numbers she needed to order some food, and it took only a few seconds before she had a sandwich on the way along with a crap ton of drinks. Once the phone was put down, she moved back to the bed and sat down, waiting patiently.
Minutes ticked by, boringly, and [Name] grew more impatient with every tick of the clock in the room; she just wanted to feed herself and get her stomach to shut up and get Killer to show the fuck back up because he was taking far too long. But, hey, he would turn up eventually she supposed, and it's not like he would have the decency to bend to her wishes. It wasn't long after her brooding that a gentle knock at the door sounded and [Name] rose to her feet warily, as her body groaned at her.
She moved to the door as quickly as possible, not wanting to let the nice person outside wait too long – after all they were bringing food to her. Slender fingers reached out to the handle, and as she pushed down the handle, her heart started to clench. With a knot in her stomach, she quickly checked to peep hole and out into the corridor. Yes, it was a normal looking girl with hotel uniform on and a tray with her food on. It wasn't some creature coming after her, and she was safe. The knot slowly untied, and she still opened the door with a wary hand.
