possible trigger warning
my time ticked by, second by second until it was gone. his time will never come, but mine is now. the seconds flew out of my grasp as i lost them, then minutes, then hours. i used to think i'd have all the time in the world, but i'll soon be proven wrong. the time i once had was precious and i'd never realized, every second i spent on earth had a purpose, a meaning. my time felt like it'd gone on for far too long, as it had. now here i stand, buying a ticket for a train, to god knows where. i huff out the rare cold air that was present today, my jacket weighing down my shoulders.
the bags i'd carried were heavier then i thought, making a grunt escape my lips when i hear the name of the train i was about to catch being called, alerting me it was in the station. i begin my way to where it sat, getting caught in the crowd of people that were gathered around it. pushing and shoving their way in, i roll my eyes, wondering why people couldn't just wait in lines. "cool hat" i hear someone call behind me, i look around to see no one else other then me wearing a hat, though i still don't turn around. i feel a tap on my shoulder, making me look behind me to see a young boy smiling at me. a small bit of stubble was on his chin surrounding his mouth, brown hair poked out from beneath a beanie he was wearing, i stop and say "thank you" once i realize i was staring.
a last call was made for the train i was about to get on, making me turn back around and shove my way inside. i sit down grunting while i set down my bags in front of me, "can i sit here?" someone asks, i turn and see the boy from earlier standing in front of me. "sure" i respond, shifting a bit so we wouldn't be touching. i tap my foot impatiently, as it was a long ride. "where are you going?" he asks, i didn't have anywhere to go, i just wanted to get away. i think about saying that but instead respond "to an uncles house, you?" he replies quickly "well, i'm going to see my grandmother," he pauses, before finishing by asking "what's your name?" i could say the same as he obviously needs to know everything about me. "elizabeth" i say, looking at him fully. i'm david"
i was awoken by a tap on my shoulder from david as the train had reached its destination. "thanks" i tell him "no problem, want any help with your bags?" i found it a bit sketchy that he wants to hold my things, but still allow him to. he smiles before grabbing my things and following me, "thanks," i say, once we leave the station. "no problem" he ends with a smile, i go to grab my things from him until he pulls his hand away from mine. i regret taking that train, i could've ran away instead, taken my dads car, but here i am in the middle of no where and it's just me and david.
he pushes my back into a forest that lined the station, using my bag to hit me in the head. he beat me to death, then, my time was up.
