Porcelain Face by 4 Door Theatre
Your POV
I sit in the corner, wondering what to do. Nobody really invited me here, I just kind of tagged along with April and Casey again, since I enjoy hanging out with them. They introduced me to the turtles when the Kraang attacked me, and really had no choice after I fainted. It's not like anyone knows where I live...
I watch Mikey and Raph battle it out on their video game, and Raph keeps shouting at Mikey while Mikey laughs. I suppose I could go join Donny... I quickly shake the thought from my head. I couldn't do that, I don't think he likes me at all, much less in a romantic way. Besides, he's so tall... 6 feet? Like, seriously, how am I even supposed to reach that? I huff to myself, and look towards the dojo. Leo's sparring in there, maybe I'll just go watch him and April.
I get up to do just that, when I hear a noise of pain come from Donny's lab! "OW! SHELLS!" I hear him yell, and I don't even think as my feet fly forward toward his door, but I stop just outside. I don't want to intrude... what if he's building something important? On the other hand, if he's really hurt... well, he can shout for help if he needs it, right? I do still want to make sure he's okay.
I reserve myself to peeking in, and I slowly open the door, begging it not to creak. Thankfully, someone out there heard me, and the door didn't creak. I poke my eyes around the doorframe, looking inside. my eyes sweep the room, until they land on Donnie. He's nursing his thumb, which looks like it's swelling pretty bad. I think I can see a blood-blister forming- he must've pinched it pretty bad. I decide to enter, seeing as I can help. "Hey. You okay?" I say, and he turns to face me.
"(y/n)! Do- What- I mean, what are you doing here?" He stammers, and I blush. Badly.
"Well I shout- I hearsh- heard shouting and I wanted to sure- assure you were okay." I say, too many thoughts running through my brain, the words changing five times on the way out of my mouth. Ugh, why do I have to be so nervous while he's here? And alone in the same room, too. Wait, ALONE-
"Oh. Y-yeah, I'm fine... I pinched my finger is all." He says, turning back to work on the machine he's building. I think for a minute. I know how to help with a blood blister, but what if he doesn't want help? It's clear he's not going to take care of it himself though, and I don't want him getting hurt worse, or popping it on something greasy. I put a hand on his shoulder, and I looks at me in surprise. I look away when I talk to him.
"...let me fix it for you..." I say gently, softly. I glance at him, then squeeze my eyes shut waiting for him to be irritated for pressing the issue. I brace myself when he stands up.
"...ok." He says, not too loud. My eyes pop open, and I look at him and blink, smiling. I take his uninjured hand, leading him to the kitchen.
"Here. Wash your hands while I get the first aid kit." I say, leaving the room. I grab the first aid kit, hoping there's a needle in there. There is! I don't see any moleskin, though. I'll have to use some from my personal first aid kit in the small backpack I carry around. I get some moleskin from my bag and grab the alcohol, too, heading back to the kitchen. I walk in on Donny holding his injured hand, staring off into space toward one of the cabinets. "I'm back." I say, alerting him to my presence. His head snaps back up, and he looks startled, blushing. I walk over. "You washed your hands, right?" I ask.
"Yeah, I used soap." He responds, watching me take his hand in mine. I look at the blood-blister, and I glance up at him while I look at it.
"You use your hands a lot while you're fighting and building things, so we can't leave this like it is... I'll have to pop it." I tell him, and a grimace comes over his face.
"Do we have to?" He asks, and I look up, surprised, blinking a bit.
"W-well I suppose we don't have to, but it'll heal faster. It might get worse if we don't, or pop on its own and get infected, which could be WAY worse. Especially if there's streaks, which we might not be able to see because of your thicker skin..." I trail off, and he kind of just looks at me for a minute. "...did I say something wrong?"
"No... no, I was just whining. Go ahead and do what you need to." He says looking at my face. I stare for a second, before going back to what I was doing. I rinse the needle with alcohol, and prepare the alcohol wipes. I take his hand in mine, giving him no warning before popping the blister. He hisses, gripping the counter as I squeeze the blood out of the wound slowly. "Ow!" He says when I squeeze too hard. I stop for a minute, making sure he's okay, and he nods to assure me I can keep going. After getting most of the blood out and blotting it off, I wipe the area gently with an alcohol wipe. I make sure the alcohol gets in the wound a little too, and I blow on it to dry it faster.
It finishes drying, and I take a moleskin to put on his thumb. I wrap gauze around it. As I wrap it with minimal but maintained pressure, he watches, closely. "There." I finish it off, placing the gauze back in it's container. "That should be good." I say, letting his hand go, my own dropping to my side. His reaches almost around me to take my hand, and he raises it to about chest height.
"(y/n), how did you know how to heal a blood blister?" He asks, and I look away before responding and looking at his face again.
"I wrote a paper on it once for Science class. I'm studying to be a nurse." I say, and he looks surprised.
"Wait, you're in college?"
"No, no." I think for a minute, trying to explain. "I take... dual credit. I'm in high school, but I'm taking some college level classes at the college. I'm still technically in high school, just ahead on some science and stuff." I say, looking at his hand still in mine and running my thumb across it.
"That's... really cool." He says quietly, looking at my lips, then back into my eyes. I panic. What do I do now? I've wanted to kiss him for a long time, and I feel like he wants to kiss me, but what if he doesn't and I end up hanging there in the air like a fool! I don't want to just do nothing, though- I might not get another chance, he might think I'm rejecting him! He searches my eyes, seemingly searching for an answer. I come to a conclusion.
"Y..." I begin, wavering as my voice begins to quiver. "...you're amazing..." I whisper, my voice barely audible. His breath hitches, and he takes in the words I've just uttered for all the world to hear. Him. He's amazing. He picks me up and I gasp, and he sits me on the counter. He seems to take my face in for a minute, before leaning closer. My heart turns to rapid-fire setting, and he pauses, leaning in a little closer. I realize he's waiting for a response, and I lean in a little too. Upon my shaky response, he leans in the rest of the way, unable to hold back from kissing me any more.
We kiss gently, neither of us wanting to push the other too far. I open my eyes when we break apart, and I look to see how far his neck was craned to reach me. I look back into his eyes, grinning. "You couldn't reach without putting me on the counter first." I say, and He immediately turns so red, I'm surprised his face hasn't lit on fire. I take his face in my hands before he can hide his face. "Don't hide, it was... cute." I say, more comfortable talking freely with him. My words bring on an entirely new shade of red to his face, and he buries his head in my shoulder. I laugh, and pat his head, before he comes back up to make me blush, kissing me again.
That is, until Leo walks in, ruining the moment.
