OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY!
Woah.
I'm sooooooooooooo mad.
Alright, I'm in a Spanish class, Spanish 2(I took Spanish 1 last semester). Last semester it SUCKED. No one listened, no one was nice, respectful, even freaking mindful!
I thought, oh new group of kids, better class! Maybe this time I'll enjoy it!
WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS!
I hate that class AGAIN. And that's because students don't understand what respect is.
Respect
"noun
1.
a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
2.
a particular aspect, point, or detail.
verb
1.
admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements."this is the definition. Now let's look at the definition of bullying.
Bullying:
"use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants."WOAH! LOOK AT THAT!!
Now what students don't realize is that they are BULLYING the ENTIRE class, INCLUDING, the teacher, when they consistently disrespect and disrupt.
Now, being disrespectful includes things like:
Mocking
Interrupting
Rude comments
Manipulation
Side conversations
Calling someone out
Semantics
Snotty answers
Etc.When people do this on a regular basis, it's bullying. Tell me this, would you do any of these things to your parents? Or if your favorite celebrity was teaching the class would you do it to them?
I'd guess not. So what the heck it different besides the teacher? THEY DOING HER BEST, SPENDING HER OWN MONEY, AND WHATEVER ELSE FOR US!
And yet, we choose to disregard that and act stupid and childish. Not to mention like ungrateful brats. But sure, let's keep doing that.
Next! NEXT! Next!
Next is the disrespect to the students around you. Even by laughing at the disrespect is allowing it and partaking in it. Now, I'm not saying that it needs to be a prefect classroom, me personally, I love a humorous environment, but not when the teacher is trying to teach us and give instruction. Or rude humor.
When people do this stuff it is taking away from the other peers education. Their lives. Think about that. By being disrespectful, you are pulling potential of countless other students right from under them. Maybe even preventing them from passing or even having success in their lives. Sure, let's do that because that's okay!
I don't understand how people don't get this! When we come to school, we are preparing for our entire future! Everything we work for now will affect us later. So why bother bullying, or not trying, or disrupting?
With the way life is going for us now, we might have to pick up pieces of a country or prevent wars. We will never know. That's why we need to focus on now and what we can do to achieve our best and get help to make it better.
