The sounds are getting louder.

I try to calm down my shaking body, rubbing my arms furiously against my bare arms.

Beside me, he stirred. He was still weak, blood still seeping through the gauge I made for his wounds. I silenced him, whispering to him to keep still, as they were getting nearer to us.

I hear a twig snap behind me.

I immediately spun around.

There she was, standing triumphantly, torch in her hand, her hair loose from her bun. I plead to her silently, desperation in my eyes.

She shouted to them, letting them know where we are.

I heard the footsteps coming closer, faster.

I clung to him, crying and pleading, still looking at her. She took no notice.

The woods became brighter, as more torches find their way towards us. I heard shouts, and more footsteps.

The torches surround us now. Their light casting an eerie glow on their faces.

Silence. I clung to him harder, uttering a silent prayer.

And then I heard them slowly loading their rifles. The friction of metal to metal and their snap echoing through the woods.

She laughed suddenly, making me shudder even more.

One by one, they pointed their rifles towards us. I plead even more, shouting, crying. They took no notice as, all at the same time, they pulled the trigger.

"NOOOOOOOOO!"

I woke up, screaming and crying at the same time.
