Livia's POV

"Please," Matt's voice cracked with desperation, his eyes searching Aaron's for some shred of mercy.

"Out," Aaron's voice was cold.

I stepped forward, my heart pounding wildly as I pleaded silently with my eyes, begging Aaron to let Matt speak to me. When Aaron finally turned, his gaze was fierce and broken all at once. "Whyyyyy!" he demanded, pain raw in his shout.

"Please," I whispered, voice trembling but steady.

Aaron spun on his heel and stormed angrily toward the guest room, slamming the door with a force that echoed like thunder.

Aaron spun on his heel and stormed angrily toward the guest room, slamming the door with a force that echoed like thunder in the quiet house. The sound reverberated deep inside me, shattering the fragile calm I had fought so hard to keep.

I turned back to Matt, my eyes still fixed on the closed door, feeling the weight of everything that had been broken between us. "This is what you have created," I said, voice low but filled with sorrow.

Matt's eyes were rimmed red. He looked like he carried the weight of the entire world on his shoulders, and in that moment, I felt it crushing down on me too. The air between us was thick with unsaid apologies. "I never meant for any of this to happen," he said, voice cracking like fragile glass. "I thought I was doing the right thing... but all I did was break you. And Aaron. I destroyed everything."

His words stabbed through me like knives. But beneath the anger and the hurt, I saw something else, regret so deep it made my heart ache.

I swallowed hard, feeling tears sting my eyes. "Matt..." My voice was barely a whisper. "Do you think I'm not broken? Every day I wake up and wonder if I'll ever be the same again. But this, this isn't just about me. It's about all of us. And maybe... maybe the only way to heal is to face it. Together."

Now I could see the walls he had built start to crumble, and the brother I loved, the one who had always been there, peeked through the storm of guilt. "I was scared, Levi," he admitted, his voice trembling. "I didn't know what to say. I had hurt you. I was scared of losing you, scared of Aaron's anger... but more than anything, I was scared of facing myself."

I reached out, my hand resting over his. "We're all scared. But we don't have to be alone."

He broke then. A sob ripped from deep inside him, and I pulled him into a hug. His shoulders shook against mine, the pain pouring out like a flood.

"I'm sorry," he whispered over and over. "For everything."

"But you need to talk to Aaron," I added firmly, looking at Carter with steady eyes. "But don't rush it, wait until he's calmer. Maybe give him some space, and then try when he's in a better mood." He nodded solemnly.

I closed the door behind me, and just then, Carter returned. I can't," Carter said quietly, voice heavy. "I can't handle an angry Aaron. It terrifies me." "Did he yell at you?" I asked, heart aching.

He shook his head.

I stood up, determination burning inside me. "Livia, let him calm down. Then you talk to him. He might shout at you. Please, sit," Carter urged, standing.

I smiled, touching his shoulder gently. "He's my husband, and if he shouts at me, what's the big deal?"

Carter shook his head, worry etched on his face. "I know what you're trying to say, Livia. But you're in this condition. No, Livia."

"I'm going to the guest room," I said firmly. "And don't stop me."

Silence fell.

Pregnancy hormones churned wildly inside me; emotions raw and unpredictable.

I opened the door slowly and found Aaron gripping the bed stand like a lifeline. His shoulders were tense, jaw clenched, eyes dark with pain.

"Carter, didn't I say to leave me alone?" he said without turning.

"I can't," I said softly, stepping closer.

He finally turned, eyes flickering with surprise. "I'm sorry. For shouting. I didn't mean it. I..."

I reached out, placing my hand gently on his neck. His skin was warm beneath my touch. "Did I say something? No, right? Aaron, I know you. I know you felt bad, that's why you left. But I never took those words to heart. They went in one ear and out the other. Simple."

His arms wrapped around me, one hand slipping tenderly to rest on my belly, pulling me closer like I was the only safe place left in this chaotic world. "Your eyes are wet," he whispered, voice thick. "I made you cry."

I brushed his hand away from my face, smiling through my tears. "I'm alright. These pregnancy hormones have me all over the place. Ignore me if I cry too much," I teased softly.

He smiled back, warmth flooding his expression as he kissed me gently on the lips.

"Are you eating at all?" His fingers caressed my belly with a worried frown. "It's so flat."

I laughed, the sound fragile but real. "My belly doesn't grow just because I eat, Aaron. It's only been a month! It takes time for the baby to grow."

He dropped to his knees, lifting the hem of my dress to reveal the smooth curve of my stomach. His lips pressed soft kisses there; one, two, then a gentle trail that made my breath hitch.

"I'm sorry for everything," he murmured, voice barely audible. "For the anger, for the silence. I'm scared, Levi. But having you here... it's the only thing that keeps me grounded."

I reached down to cup his face, my tears spilling freely now, mixing with the love and pain tangled inside me. "We're scared," I said. "But we're in this together."

He pulled me into a tender embrace, rocking me gently. "I promise I'll do better," he whispered. "For you. For our baby."
