Chapter 3

Suspicions

On Monday morning Luna, Ginny, and Hermione woke up early and quickly dressed into their school robes before hurrying down to the Great Hall.

"Morning girls," harry said as they sat down, winking at Ginny.

Luna and Hermione both caught this and glanced at Ginny who was slightly pink at her cheeks.

"What class do we have first?" Ron asked as he stuffed half a pancake into his mouth.

Hermione rolled her eyes but answered anyways, "we have double potions. Proffesor Snape isn't here so a Proffesor Slughorn is going to teach. The 4th years have it with us."

"Great," said Ginny rolling her eyes, "a class with my brother."

Everyone laughed and headed of to potions.

"Good morning students," Proffwsor Slughorn, a plump man with a round head said, "today we are going to be making a special potion. Dumbledore himself requested we do this. This is the potion," he held up a small bottle filled with a thick black liquid that seemed to have silver strands in it, "who knows what potion this is?"

All heads turned to hermione who looked down at her desk. No one had seen this potion including her. Everyone was shocked by the fact the she didn't raise her hand, but more so that both Draco and Luna did at the same time.

"Mr. Malfoy," proffesor slughorn called.

"This potion is the Eaticus Revealous." He said.

"Good, and Ms. Lovegood, do you know what the Eaticus Revealous does?" The professor asked.

"Yes," Luna looked at Draco who's eyes were wide with fear," it um...it reveals death eaters." She said, also with fearful eyes.

"Very good, And do the two of you know how it works?"he asked.

"Yes," they both said.

"You have to sniff the potion for it to work," Draco started

"And if it stays black, you're not a death eater," Luna continued

"But if it turns a pure silver," Draco said looking Luna in the eye

"Then you're a death eater," luan finished also looking at Draco.

"Very good, very good. Why don't you two come smell it." The professor said.

They both got up quite slowly, and walked to the front. The second the professor uncapped the potion, Luna cried out in pain.

Luna screamed and Draco acted immediately. He grab the option and the stopper, and capped it. Luna continued to whimper for a moment when.

Hermione suddenly gave a loud gasp, "oh my god. I remember reading something about a potion like this. Luna are you a death eater?"

Luna looked at Malfoy, "of course not. Now!"

Malfoy and Luna both cried out, "OBLIVIATE" They returned to there seats before everyone came back I'm focus.

"Alrighty students," professor slughorn said, "Time to group up to make this potion. Let's do Potter, Weasley, and Weasley. Malfoy, Zabini, and Parkinson. And Lovegood, Granger, and Longbottom. Good luck."

The students quickly branches into their groups to make the potion. After about an hour and a half, Luna and her group were finished. They were first, of course, so they had to wait for everyone to finish. At twenty minutes until the bell, professor slughorn gave instructions.

"Take a vial and fill it with your potion. Label it with your names and bring it up here."

Everyone did as he said.

"Alright. Now for the fun of it let's just all take a whiff so we're able to regonize it."

The professor pass's it to everyone in Harry's group. It stayed balck for them. He then moved onto Malfoy's group. Parkinson and Zabini both were fine since the potion stayed black.

"Mr. Malfoy. Your turn. Take a whiff," Professor Slug horn said.

"I think I'll pass," Draco answered politely.

"Nope. No exceptions," and he held out the potion.

Draco slowly sat up and leaned over the potion, he pretended to take a breathe in and out. The pltiom stay black. Professor Slughorn made his way over to Luna's group, as Luna gales at Draco, confused on any it didn't turn silver.

"Ms. Lovegood. Uh..Ms. Lovegood?" Professor Slughorn said to Luna, "sniff."

"No." Luna said.

"Luna, just take a whiff," Hermione said thinking it wouldn't do anything because it stayed black for her and Neville, "its not gonna change."

"I'd really prefer not to-" luna started.

"Ms. Lovegood smell the potion for goodness sake." Professor Slughorn half yelled, early getting annoyed.

"Fine." Luna said, and sniffed the potion.

Professor Slughorn held it up, about to say 'see nothing to worry about,' but then it turned a deep, rich shade of silver.
