I wake up with a start. I'm in darkness. I smell blood. I feel stone beneath me the ice cold temperature seeping through my jeans and onto my skin, chilling my bones and freezing the blood running through my veins. I hear water dripping somewhere. I see a faint light illuminating the cell there are two walls of solid dark stone one disappearing into darkness and one with thick iron bars. the faint light comes from behind the bars. that's when the screams start. high and piercing screams of agony that echo off the walls of the cell. after hours They stop and turn into a deafening silence . my mind wanders wondering what caused the screams and what caused them to stop. I'm so busy thinking I don't notice when it starts. hot and thick blood pours down the walls of the cell in torrents and onto the floor. The walls weren't dark because they were stone it was because they were stained with blood. it's starting to pool on the floor staining the white laces of my shoes a deep crimson. the blood is up to my ankles now. it gets higher and higher. the blood has risen higher than my waist now. I hear someone sloshing through the blood coming down the hallway near the bars of my cell it stops. "help! please help me!" I cry. no help comes. The cell is filling up quickly now. I'm holding onto the bars struggling to keep my mouth and nose above the blood. my head is almost completely under now. I take a final gasping breath and my head goes under. I can't breathe. I can't see. I can hold my breath no longer and the salty disgusting blood forces it's way into my mouth and down my throat. it pushes itself into my lungs filling them slowly and painfully. I am drowning in blood.
