"Your name will be Anastasia Stone and you can decide what Korean name you'll go with since you had one already during training." Chief's assistant did the briefing of my identity for this 'mission', I didn't really care what my name was for any mission nor did I have to worry about the different languages I had to speak .I had to take language classes during training for when I had to do assignments abroad. We are currently in Chief's office. Me, the assistant, Chief and General are the only ones present.
"So who's my target in this mission?" I asked.
"Let's call this one a mandatory indefinite leave and your target is to relax and have a completely normal life. You will still be a DEA agent but you will spend most of your time doing things that normal people do." General answered, sat on the chair next to mine and handed me an envelope.
"That means, no chasing after drug dealers or killing bodyguards." Chief added. I laughed and nodded.
"So what am I supposed to do there?" I can get a job at a hospital since I did major in biochemistry and also graduate medicine but until when will I stay there?
"You'll work in a company my brother owns." General answered and gave me another envelope that says, 'JYP Entertainment'.
"Open those two later. 62 will be taking you to the airport in 10 minutes. Be ready." General said and walked out of the office.
"Sherry, you may go." Chief instructed his assistant.
As soon as everyone was out, Chief sat down and said, "Grace, you know how much I love you even though you're not my real daughter, right? Papa will always love you." This is what I hated the most, leaving Papa behind. Only Chief knew my real name. He's the only I trust when it comes to my real identity "I know, Papa and I love you too. Promise me that you won't train anyone else while I'm not around?" I sniffed and hugged Papa. "I promise. Now, go and enjoy." he hugged me back and kissed my forehead before letting me go.
"Good luck with everything, 99." 62 said while handing me my bags. "Thanks. Train harder and don't forget to bring your balls whenever your going out for a mission. It was a pain in the ass having you as my partner." I sternly said. His smile faded and he quickly went inside the car and drove off.
Men and their pride.
I went through check-in pretty quick and still had some time to relax in the first class lounge. Papa was nice enough to book me a first class ticket which I was very thankful for, I had a very long flight ahead of me. I put my earphones on and played some songs from the iPod General gave me. I basically had Korean songs which were actually very catchy.
"Hajima, hajima, haji, hajima~" I sang to one of the songs in my head.
I didn't get some sleep because our plane arrived early so I had to board after just one song. The first class cabin was empty when I arrived so I assumed that I was the only first class passenger on this plane. A flight attendant ushered me to my seat and told me to call her if I needed anything.
I took the envelope that General gave me and opened it first setting the folder aside. The envelope contained IDs that I can use in Korea, credit cards and a note that read, "Enjoy and spend to your hearts content, the company will pay for everything." Well this is off to a good start, I thought to myself. I put all the contents of the envelope back inside, set it aside and proceeded to the folder.
"JYP Entertainment..." I said as I flipped the cover. The first page contained a picture of the founder of the company which as also the General's brother. They looked totally different, this guy had a chiseled jaw line and also had highlights which General would never think of getting. I skimmed through the papers and it looks like General got me a job as a manager, this will totally be a piece of cake. If I can catch bad guys I think I can look after a group of idols. I placed the documents down and closed my eyes preparing for the changes that are about to come.
I have been in Korea for an hour already and for some reason I am so excited to start working. It's around 9:30 am KST and I'm on my way to the JYP building to meet my boss. I decided to go with Kim Nari as my Korean name since it sounds common and it's easier to write in Hangul.
We arrived in front of a building filled with pictures of bands or kpop groups outside. "Kamsahamnida~" I thanked the driver and got out of the car. He went to take my luggage to the dorm where I was supposed to live with the group I was assigned to.
Walking inside the building, I saw more pictures of groups and also some album covers. The lady at the information desk instructed me to go to Mr. Park Jin Young's office which was on the second floor.
" Kim YuGyeom, come back here! Yaaaa!" I was startled by a scream coming from behind me. I looked back and saw a tall, yellow-haired -literally bright yellow- boy running towards me with a shirt in his hands that looked like it belongs to the shirtless guy at the end of the hallway. I caught the tall, yellow-haired boy and twisted his arm and pinned him to the ground.
"AHHH! Mark hyung, help me!"
"Hey, let him go!" The shirtless boy said in english before running towards me. I then let the yellow-haired one go and helped him up. "I'm sorry, I thought it was something serious." I responded in english and bowed.
What a great first day, Grace.
"It's okay. Are you one of the trainees here?" The once shirtless boy asked, he retrieved the shirt that the yellow-haired boy took.
"Ani." I laughed at myself, I haven't spoke in Korean in a while I'm pretty sure I sounded weird. As expected, both of them laughed too. "Mark and Yugyeom go back to practice please." A man said, cutting off both of the boy's laughter. "Ne, juesonghamnida." they both bowed and went back to one of the rooms.
"You must be Anastasia, I'm Park Jin Young." He extended his hand for me to shake. After shaking hands, he led me into his office. It was a big room with brown walls filled album covers of different groups. He had a table near the full length window and a sofa and a coffee table at the center of the room.
"You must be tired from your flight but you went straight to work. My brother wasn't lying when he said that you were a workaholic." he said with a chuckle.
"I was just excited." I answered plainly. I am quite tired but this is nothing compared to my missions back home.
"I know what your job was back in the US and I know how tough you are that's why I agreed when my brother told me about you." I was shocked when he said that, DEA agent's identity are highly classified and should not be known to non-agents."What exactly do you know?" I asked, "I only know that you are a DEA agent, that's it." I nodded thankful that they did not disclose my real name. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me." I nodded. It better be, old man.
"Excuse me PD-nim, the boys are here." the lady from the information desk downstairs announced. A group of boys entered the room, they immediately bowed and sat down the sofa. I noticed the yellow-haired boy and the brown-haired boy from earlier, they were both looking at me, I just smiled not knowing what to do.
"Anastasia, meet the GOT7 boys, Bambam, Mark, Yugyeom, Jae beom, Jin Young, Young Jae and Jackson. Boys, this is Anastasia, your new manager."
Double Shit.
