Sonadow Story (may contain explicit material, so readers be cautioned)
You know it's weird how love works, you know? It's an emotion that enters your soul, but somehow it always finds a way to intertwine around your heart and trap you. Sonic has never been the one to see people that way and surely he loved everybody equally, but never did he expect the day when he'd fall into this seducing spell. For days the hedgehog had been confused, and often found himself tripping over his own feet at sudden the thought of romance. Was it even true? He always thought the idea seemed too farfetched to ever really consider. He had a job to pursue helping people, and relationships were only going to get into the way, but gosh Sonic felt as if he couldn't run away from this one.
He met this person a long time ago; not in the best of ways, but neither did the speedster regret it. The hedgehog was bold, brave, and so intelligent it often made Sonic quite jealous. Never before this time meeting the hedgehog did he ever have actual feelings for him, no... Shadow was just a friend, nothing more along the lines of a mere rival. The azure hedgehog hit his head against the wall everytime he caught himself thinking about the immortal being. He couldn't be gay, he just couldn't- so Sonic wouldn't. The hero tried very hard to forget about him and ignore his presence whenever it lingered, but every single time, Sonic found himself tapping Shadow's shoulder again to talk. Frick. How does that happen on accident?
It was about a few months ago when Sonic found himself becoming consumed with these feelings for Shadow, and he failed to understand why. It was like any other day he visited the stubborn life form in attempts to look for a challenge. That's it. A fight for the green Chaos Emerald Shadow always seemed to carry, but when he denied Sonic's requests, everything folded into one dramatic turn. In seconds, he had swiped the Emerald from Shadow's grasp and instantly got what he came to expect. A fight. Thinking back onto it now, Sonic squinted his eyes shut feeling embarrassed. He did something he really wished he hadn't done, but at the same time... The moment felt so right, but now that it was over Sonic had time to think about it on his own... He didn't know how to feel.
The moment when Shadow toppled right on top of him and planted Sonic's wrists to the ground, the blue hedgehog couldn't help but lose his grip onto the Emerald. Although, when it tumbled away from both Mobians, neither of them moved. It was like they were stuck staring at each other for a blank moment. Shadow had leaned down close to Sonic's face brushing his furry white chest across the speedster's, but when he did brace himself the unexpected, Shadow grinned and then took off... But left the Chaos Emerald behind. What did Sonic do that he thought was forbidden? He blushed, and not like a pink rose either- worse. Shadow had the glorified chance to even see up close, how embarrassing. At least he had the dumb Chaos Emerald he had wanted currently in his hands now.
Nobody knew about it, not even Sonic's bestest friend, Tails. He couldn't admit it, not yet. Sitting along the crease of a tree branch, Sonic kept himself busy watching the sunset beside him. It was so beautiful to watch the bright star of flames fall back behind the horizon, because Sonic knew when this side of the world fell dark, the other side had risen to greet the morning sun. Simply amazing. The blue hedgehog was ready to speed away back home after the first signs of darkness, before he saw the trail of jet smoke trailing towards his direction. Oh no no no, and just when Sonic thought he was free from his swooning thoughts. He watched frozen lying on his branch while the ultimate lifeform skate past him into the direction of the forest. Tossing the green Emerald a few times in his hands, Sonic bit his lip debating whether he should catch up with Shadow or not. But before his mind could say no, Sonic's legs already hovered past the edge of the tree branch and hopped down from his perch. He might as well return the Emerald now that he no longer needed it- nor simply wanted it. So with a kick of dust, the famous Blue Blur followed Shadow the Hedgehog down into the forest far away, although the moment he finally found the black Mobian at a distance he could approach from, Sonic realized he must've come across some sort of secret hideout of Shadow's. Hiding in the bushes, he looked through the cracks and saw a clearing of tall flattened grass with a large hollow log centered in the middle. Shadow sat on top of it, leaning to the side of the log and grabbed a book from the gap.
