Note : this is my first fan fiction so, yeah, it probably would be thrown in the trash if it was written on paper. Or maybe be burned because that would be more useful for fires. Yes, so next time you feel like throwing away a book, burn it instead.
Oh, and OFF is a free game by Mortis Ghost if you didn't know that already. So it would be wise to play that or watch someone play it to understand what's going on.
Prologue (this story takes place from the perspective of an "elsen", before the batter came to purify.)
Vesper (ZONE 3)
I have to admit, refusing the sweet desserts was a dumb idea. But one of my fellow elsens dared me to do that for a whole month! I am pretty sure that I am becoming delusional. The spectres are becoming more menacing looking, and I don't feel happy that much anymore. Maybe it was the desserts, maybe it's a coincidence. But I don't want to start eating desserts already and still be delusional. Then I would have let him down and gain nothing.
Anyways, the second week of rejecting desserts was even easier for some reason. My temptations for it have decreased. That night however, I could not sleep. I decided to pace around then I heard an elsen talking to himself. I looked around and saw that elsen, but he wasn't talking to himself, he was talking to a small group of spectres.
He said, "Hi spectres! Pleasure to meet you."
The spectres approached the lone elsen and injured him.
"Oh, it's okay." He whimpered, "Accidents happen..."
The spectres then tore his body in half.
"Ah!" I screamed then covered my mouth. Oh no, They are coming after me now! I ran out of the bed dorms and into the cafeteria. I took a right into an area I have not yet explored, tumbling into someone.
"Sir, watch it." The masked man said, "But what are you doing here in this small warehouse? You should be sleeping."
"I would be sleeping but I'd rather not get killed by spectres!" I wailed, "I don't know if I've lost them."
"I'm sure you're alright," he chuckled, "Spectres don't come around here."
I leaned back against the wall, worried at going back to where the spectres could be. Once my panic had finally subsided, I focused my attention to looking at the man. He had a light blue sweater with a heart near the middle. His face was hidden behind a cat-shaped mask with an eerie, yet oddly enlightening smile. He was stroking an oddly shaped object.
"Uh, what's that your holding?" I asked.
"Oh, I don't know." He chuckled, "Maybe some credits, heh heh heh. Beautiful credits."
"Credits? Huh?" I wondered.
"Yes, yes." He explained, "They are used to obtain various things..."
Tired, I cut him off by saying, "What's with the cat mask?"
"Oh," he said numbly, "I just made it recently, I usually only wear it when I'm working."
I sat down and rested my head against a small crate so I could rest. I soon fell soundly asleep. Something poked at my side, jolting me awake.
"It's nearly morning." The masked man pointed out, "You should leave before everyone awakens."
"I can't!" I cried, "Th-The spectres might come after me again!"
"That is a problem indeed." He contemplated, "You have no means to protect yourself..."
