I closed my computer, and went to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.

"Honey, I'm home." I heard the front door yell and his footsteps get closer.

"Hi baby," I smiled, and he planted a light kiss on my lips.

"How was your day?" He asked, while lowering his head and brushing his nose against mine.

"I finally finished my book!" I squealed, happily, and he smiled.

"Finally. Did you kill me in the end?" He rolled his eyes, and I looked at him, guilty.

"You did! I told you not to! People are going to misunderstand our story!" He let me go and walked into our room, with me following right behind him.

"Dean! I had to put something to make it interesting!"

"But I never had cancer! I have depression!" He exclaimed, and I held in a laugh.

He looked so adorable when he was angry.

It is true, we met in a mental hospital, it's all true, except the cancer part. Dean actually had depression, and was in the hospital for the same reason as I was. He tried to commit suicide.

After I turned 21, I requested an emancipation from my step mother, and thank goodness I got a good lawyer because she helped me get a good part of my father's inheritance, which helped me pay my hospital bill.

Dean had already left the hospital at that time, and we decided to buy a place together.

We entered a home school course and graduated high school. Dean majored in business, while I majored in English. I've always wanted to be an author.

Surprisingly, I wrote wrote three books, and one of them actually sold quite well. It's good that I'm able to live off of this, it pays the bills, but of course Dean pays his part.

About Dean... I think that he was the best thing that's ever happened to me.

I never connected with someone so much, no one ever understood me like he did.

We got married on October 18th, 2017 after dating for six years, in simple but really pretty wedding ceremony.

All of our friends from the Hospital attended, as well as the nurses and doctors. After all, they were all the people we knew at the time.

A few of Dean's friends from work went as well.

About out friends...

Brittany has her autism and bipolar disorder under control. When she got the news that she was leaving the hospital, I swear I never heard someone scream louder in my life.

Surprisingly, she ended up falling for Matt, the nurse, and they have been dating for a few years now.

Jess moved away to England with her mother, who had was transferred there. She actually came back to our wedding, and it was really nice to catch up with her.

As for Dean, his mother is still in that facility, living day by day; we still go there to visit her every week.

His father, on the other hand, was arrested in midst of a fight, one of his neighbors got sick of it and finally called the police.

As for me... my life was doing good.

My step mother is broke as hell. She's having to sell all of her luxurious goods, while trying to find someone rich to live off by.

And that's it.

This was the story of my life.

"Baby?" His voice woke me up from my daydream.

"Let's go to sleep hm? I'm tired," he made the cutest pout and ran into our room, jumping on the bed.

I ran after him and laid beside him. His arms were quick to embrace me.

It is still strange...
How much has happened till we came down to this moment: I am laying in his arms, while his fingers gently caress my cheek.

"I love you, you know that, right?" I say, looking up to see his brown eyes. The eyes that have hypnotized me ever since I first looked at them.

"I love you too," he said, and I put my face in the crook of his neck. "So much," he breathed out slowly, analyzing every inch of my face, like he wanted to remember every detail.

After everything... We finally realized that we are better together than apart.
