【KTH】

Maybe it was the smell of strong coffee that lured me into the small shop or the taste of something warm yet so full of flavor to touch my tastebuds I eventually walked into the shop.

Yet again, it was the third time this week that I've entered this calm shop. Their drinks were delicious and the food amazing, but I always entered the shop for him. He always came in early in the morning or late in the afternoon for something. Always alone. I studied his looks. He was an angel with no wings. Skin glowing in the sunlight shining through the shops windows. Laugh radiating through the shop as he read something on his phone. Three weeks and I started to feel something for a stranger. His beauty so ethereal I felt as if he belonged in a museum.

His then ash grey hair sparkled with such shine. His hair now some shade of brown. It's early morning. I entered the shop thirty minutes before he came to prepare myself for what I decided to do. The courage inside me for doing such a on the spot decision had my stomach grumbling. Not with hunger, but with wild butterflies.

As he stepped foot into the shop, small bell rattling inside the shop announcing another customer had entered the quiet place. He quickly made his way to order his drink and finding his favorite table to sit at.

My presence was always almost unnoticed as I sat in the back admiring from afar. Sketch book in hand as I had drawn a couple drawing of the ethereal angel a couple tables far from me. Today had to be the day I confront the nameless man I prefer to call angel.

I had managed to finally pick myself up to head to the angels table to finally speak up. To at least confess something I had been bottling up for three weeks. I calmly walked towards him. His aroma quickly surrounding all of me. The smell of coffee forgotten.

"Hi, I-I'm an artist mind posing quickly for a sketch" I coughed out rather nervously.

"Sure, I wouldn't mind" his deep voice with a hint of excitement soon filled my ears.

The sketch was fast as I had already memorized most of his features. Yet my hands were quite shaky as I've never been this close up to him. A real Angel he is. Skin tan and glowing in the sunlight. Lips full, plump and pink. Nose so beautiful you'd think it's fake. Slightly chubby cheeks but a quick sharp jaw line. And a smile that could send you to cloud 9.

"Here you go" I shyly smiles handing him the finished sketch took only about five to ten minutes.

"It's beautiful- would you mind doing one with my girlfriend and I ?" He joyful asked.

girlfriend

I choked on a sob. And quickly coughed to cover it. When? Where? A girl? I've never seen him with someone here? Maybe it was long distance and she just came down. Or maybe he'll just pull up a picture from his phone for me to sketch, but no all my assumptions were wrong. And soon enough the owner of the shop came out from the back walkings towards us pressing a quick kiss to his cheek. His eyes slightly closing as he smiled, cheeks showing a small tint of pink, and face glowing with love.

"She's an artist look what she quickly sketched darling." He spoke so softly.

darling

My heart was aching. I was sure I was about to faint or worse have a cardiac arrest, but no instead I accepted the offer of drawing them.

them

"There you go have a wonderful day" I gave them a short smile bowing as I attempted to exit the shop as soon as possible.

"Wait!" He called out. "What's your name?"

"Neko" I lied. "But my friends call me Rb" another lie.

"And yours?" I quickly asked.

"Taehyung, Kim Taehyung. And this is soon to be Mrs.-"

I walked out of the shop before he finished that sentence. My heart sank to my stomach. And tears streamed down my face. I don't know what felt worse. My heart or this overly sweetened coffee.

It's broken, but spelled backwards.
