(Xia Yao's POV)

"There's only green apples left mom, are you ok with that?" Xia Yao murmured to his phone while pushing the cart half full of groceries.

"Hmm, that's okay. Just buy six of those, then. And don't forget the pork, less fat and more meat, okay? Last time you brought home the meat with much more fat on it that the meat! Honestly, Xy, have I not raised you to be wise? Tsk tsk!" A feminine voice sermons to Xia Yao, admonishing him calmly but with a bite of vigor on it he can't stop but roll his eyes.

Sighing in exasperation and fondness, Xia Yao smiled and replied,

"Mom! We were talking about the apples. Apples! And just so you know, that meat was still delicious even though it's fatty! I ate four servings of that night that I needed to burn it for 2 days on the gym!" Xia Yao indignantly retorted mockingly, all too aware how his mom often liked to tease him.

Turning to the fruit corner, Xia Yao approached the apple section and much to other customers silent amusement, meticulously chose six green apples like an art enthusiast inspecting a world class artwork of any irregularities, turning each apple in every which way, peering at it from all sides, all the while still bantering on the phone with his mom.

"Don't take too long Xy, okay? You know how your Pa is when hungry. Buy everything you think we need and some that you like too, for that matter. See you at home later okay? Take care, love you!" Xia Yao's mom bid him farewell and dropped the connection afterwards.

Smiling fondly down at his phone, Xia Yao pocketed it on his jeans and turned back to his perusal of apples.

Satisfied with his inspection of apples, Xia Yao pushed his cart along different aisles, inspecting different products on every shelves on display, making sure he looks at the nutritional values on food products, costs, quality, and effectiveness of each products.

Call him anything you want, he just wants the best of the best, if not perfect. it might be slightly on the absurd side of things nut it's his dam life and no one can say anything about it.

Twenty minutes of roaming around the grocery and checking his mental checklist of all he needed to purchase, he finally turned to the meat section's direction and calmly pushed his cart that way, idly roaming his eyes on different products that grabs his attention on his way.

Arriving at the sections of pre-cut meats, he inspected it again with great care, using the thongs to lift some on eye level, checking it's color, shaking it slightly so as to feel the firmness of the meats.

Seeing that he isn't satisfied with the meat in this section, he pushed his way to the next stall, totally unaware of the stink eye the butcher guy manning the stall is directing him and not hearing the irritated murmurings of 'some uncultured kids abusing his meats and not even buying anything after, the jerk'.

After some more stalls, some more meat shaking, more stall owners directing stink eyes his way, which went totally unnoticed by him again, he finally saw the meat he was looking for in the last stall being manned by an old lady.
