Chapter 38

Avery's P.O.V.

I dropped down to my knees as the doctor came running out. People were grabbing my old pack and pushing them to the cellars. Hunter came up behind me and grabbed my waist as he was instructed to by the doctor. They whisked Shawn away as I screamed his name over and over. Hunter pulled me to Shawn's and i's room and left while Shan pulled me to her chest. As we sat, she whispered soothing words into my ears. suddenly my door was opened to reveal my 'parents'. "Avery!" they yelled together. they hugged me and started pulling me out of my room. "NO!" I screamed. They looked at me with shock. "Avery, I don't like that tone of voice young lady," my mother said, calmly. Shan grabbed my arm and pulled me to her side. "And who is this mutt," they asked, Shan growled. "I over power you, I am the protector of the royal family, you have no right coming in here and telling me how to do my job," Shan said, all of her super natural creatures coming out all at once, disliking the amount of disrespect they were getting. Her eyes turning to different colors and shapes. I backed off as the rest of my old pack came into view. Chase went to grab my arm but Hunter grabbed my arm pulling me back to the bed, where he threw me down. Then all of a sudden my stomach started turning and I ran to the bathroom, were I emptied the contents of my stomach. They all took a sniff of the air around them. I nearly threw up again when Shan screamed, "I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNTIE!!!!!!" "YOU'RE GOING TO BE A WHAT NOW?!?!" I yelled. Being as his mate was doing some kind of a happy dance, Hinter answered for his mate, "Avery, you're pregnant," he said. Then my old pack was pulled out of the room when I started to cry. "How will I tell Shawn," I asked bawling my eyes out. "Fun fact, your pregnancy will only last three weeks," Shan said, as if reciting it from memory. I stood up and they did as well, "then I guess that explains the weight I've gained the past week," I said with a small laugh. We walked to the doctor's office, the one not containing my injured mate, an sat down at the small table. Hunter went to get a doctor and to check up on Shawn while I got checked out. The doctor came in and we explained what had happened only moments before. He told me to lie down, I did as I was told and without warning the elder doctor put some cold, gooey gel onto my small round belly. I squeaked and they both laughed. He pointed at a small screen to see two white, what looked to be bodies. "Congratulations, you are having twins," he said in a happy tone. Shan and I both smiled as he printed out some pictures o my little angels. Shan and I walked out, but not without asking when we could know the genders. "Two weeks," his exact words. "What?!?" Shan and I had screeched. He then explained that when Shawn was about 16, he had told the doctors that when he met his mate, and when they had children, he wanted the genders to be a surprise. We simply nodded and walked out. We then went to see my charming mate. Shan had gotten a text from Hunter saying we could come in, and that Shawn was awake. Hunter walked out and let me go into the room alone with Shawn, who was nearly healed. He pulled me into a hug and a kiss. "What's that," he asked, I looked at him confused then realized he was pointing to the small pieces of paper in my hands. I handed him the pictures. Worried as he looked at the page, then his face turned into the biggest smile I have ever seen on his pretty little face. He grabbed my waist and hugged me tight I hugged him back with the same amount of force. Then he kissed me with so much force, I think it was the best kiss I have ever had!
